The hotel's beds are so comfortable. Really you sleep very well here.
There is always wind (a breeze) in the hotel, I think very good not only to prevent COVID spread (covid is mainly airborne i.m.o.) but also to keep everything fresh and chill and to prevent mosquitos from visiting, after all it is a tropical climate.
It is so close to the beach and sea, there is always a breeze and it is only maybe a 2 minute walk to the beach.
The room really feels tropical with white and blue colors (for the color lovers) and there are fans in every room and the bedroom has a very powerful AC, although I hardly used it, I kept the window/door open on the balcony, it was safe.
The cook is good! Pizza very good beers are very cold.
As most beach bars in the immediate area, try to rip you off (well or at least overcharge you a bit or have louzy service), eating in the hotel or drinking something at the hotel is a wise thing to do, and it is also good.
Very close near the hotel is a mini supermarket called Germania (although I did not see anything connected to Germany there) :)
There are beach bars /restaurants and many resorts around the hotel and countless souvenir shops who all sell the same (from China).
I did not do it, but I think the resort directly next to the hotel also accepts the hotel's guests.
Note that the hotel is in Bavaro, which is not the city center of Punta Cana.
If you are a light sleeper, there is noise pollution around the hotel, of bars and disco until after midnight. But hey you are in a busy and touristic area, so I think it is only positive. There is a lot to do.
The hotel can also arrange a reliable taxi driver. There are some issues with Über in Punta Cana unfortunately.
I also liked the balcony a lot. It even had power plugs outside.
As for improvements:
Although the showerhead is a mercedes (see picture) :) it did not work like a mercedes. Hot water supply was limited and so was the water flow. Bathroom had a bit of an odor (but is very clean).
Just for people to know, I do not think there is an elevator in the hotel, but they have plenty of rooms on the ground floor.
So I think a very nice stay, especially for solo travelers and couples I think.
Staff is helpful, they are a bit uncertain of their English , but I think they are better at it then they think. Once they start talking it goes very smooth and they try to help you.
Good hotel , well...
Read moreThe ApartHotel Green Coast was a clean apartment across the (small) street to a lovely little beach area. The staff speaks limited English, but we were able to communicate just fine with my limited Spanish. The staff members were very nice and they tried to help whenever I needed. The transfer to the hotel was seamless ($35) and check-in was a breeze (although a little slow). |Pros:|Clean cheap place if you are on a budget, or for a quick overnight before you go to an all inclusive|Good water pressure and hot water |We slept late most days and the cleaning ladies always came back to the room late afternoon without me needing to call (downside, my room was not mopped)|Full kitchen with full refrigerator, stove, table chairs and living area (very basic utensils)|Balcony (although no balcony chairs were provided)|easy walk to restaurants and mini market |beach entrance is across the street-very cute little beach nook||Cons:|tiny bathroom (needs upgrading)|kitchen has VERY limited utensils (1 small pot, 1 small pan, setting for 2)|a/c only in bedroom, but it kept the unit cool as long as the oven was not turned on|no sound proofing -I heard EVERYTHING going on outside starting at 8am until about 10pm-it made sleeping late or naps difficult. |towels were thin and worn|breakfast was 4 small/thin slices of pineapple, cantaloupe and papaya and 3 slices of toast (I would have liked at least 1 type of protein served, like eggs) ||Overall I would stay again, although not likely. |Hint: I used airportshuttles.com to book my transfer from the apartment back to the...
Read moreWe stayed at the Green Coast Beach Hotel from June 22-30. We had a great experience. The workers and owner were very helpful and friendly. Given that it was during COVID, the workers did a great job of always wearing masks and bringing food to the room, free of charge, to better protect the residents. I really loved how close the hotel was to the beach (a 10-second walk). I also really liked how private the beach was for the hotel residents. The food at the hotel was much better than expected (be sure to ask for the entire menu). We were given an upgrade upon arriving and happened to be at the hotel during Hurricane Isaias. The staff moved our room to better suit us during the storm. The owner’s name is Alberto and he was fantastic and helpful. The staff (including Ana & Jonny), and the cook, were also great and friendly. You cannot beat the location and the hotel for the price. It is about 30 minutes from the airport, and a taxi ride is $35. The rooms are cleaned daily (which is nice because of the sand) and the breakfast is also good. ||||The one bad thing is to STAY AWAY from the beach vendors. They will badger you and you have to make it very clear (from the beginning) you are not interested because they will all speak to each other and before you know it, one vendor turns into 25 who all know you have money to spend.||||Overall,...
