First let me say that I have worked in restaurants and in The service industries for years. We were on vacation for my daughter 25th birthday. We ordered two appetizers (mind you the waitress RECOMMENDED both) and I one of the appetizers NO ONE LIKED IT! We called the waitress and asked if we can please change it for something else because it was really disgusting (in our opinion and there’s 5 of us). She called the “manager” and they said we can order another appetizer BUT we would still have to pay for the appetizers that we didn’t eat! At this point we asked for the check and as we were leaving they called the owner. We thought that he would fix the problem but he said the same thing. He said if we paid in cash he would give us a “discount “!!!! As if we were asking for a discount? It was NEVER about the money! It was my daughter’s 25th birthday and all we wanted was good food and drinks!!! The appetizers cost 990.00 Dominican money witch is 19.00 US dollars!!! We had not even ordered our main entrees!!!! They lost a party of 5 over 19.00 dollars!!! We paid for our drinks, the ONE appetizer that we ate and we tipped 40% even tho the service was HORRIBLE!!! We ended up five minutes down the road to Porto by Mosquito and it was 10000000X better anyways!!! It’s a shame that this happened because we spent one entire week in Las Terrenas and this was our only negative experience. Will never go to this restaurant...

Don't waste 3 hours of your time for disappointing food and terrible service! We went here because of the reviews and unfortunately after waiting over 1.5 hours we were definitely unimpressed. We all ordered pasta dishes, with the exception of one in our party who ordered the 8oz steak and fries, and I have no idea why such a simple order took an TWO HOURS to prepare. When the food finally did come out, we were disappointed with the majority of the food. The salmon ravioli came lukewarm and almost cold like it had been sitting out for a while and the portion was tiny. The penne queso gorgonzola came out last with a tiny portion of pasta that left me feeling hungry even after eating all of it. The penne bolognese tasted like it was prepared from a can, and the steak had to be sent back because it was not cooked properly AFTER ALMOST 2 HOURS. Throughout our 2.5 hour stay at this restaurant we dealt with rude staff, high prices for low quality food, and an overall poor experience. We left feeling hungry and frustrated and ultimately my husband and I ended up eating homemade sandwiches at 11:00pm because we were just as hungry when we got home. Don't...

Just came back from the restaurant after my wife and i waited for 1.5 hours for Tuna tartare and mixed grilled meats (fairly quick to prepare dishes) and the dishes didn't arrive, asked the manager/owner whats up with the food and the answer was "I have 2 tables of 10 people upstairs waiting". We decided to wait 10 more minutes to see if the food will arrive or we leave. The Tuna tartare arrived but the mixed grilled meats didn't because we got wrong dish instead. The waiter said she's sorry because she thought i meant something else (don't know how because i showed her the dish from the menu). She said if i want the meats i have to wait bit more, that's where we just got mad and asked the bill for our drinks only and wanted to leave and ofcurse we had to wait again untill my wife just went physically to them and asked for the bill. In conclusion, the service is very bad and slow, cant recommend to anyone to go eat there unless they are willing to wait 1.5 hours or more...

Ignore the other "best in Las Terraneas" claims... this place is amazing. Real ingredients, real food, enough said. My wife had the risotto and I had the red snapper. I mean, come on... I didn't know snapper could taste this good. Bonus number two, they use salt and pepper properly during the cooking process. The food was literally the best we had while we were there. Oh, and the margaritas... just say yes. Bonus three and arguably the most important... the employees were naturally happy to be there and enjoy what they were doing. I don't care how good the food is, if it's not accompanied with love it all just a waste of time. INSERT: Wifey here. I second and third everything my husband said. I would also like to add that I loved their tomatoes, which doesn't sound like a big accomplishment, but I hate, HATE tomatoes. With a passion. But even their tomatoes we were amazing and I LOVED them. Words don't do justice to how fantastic and unique this place is!

This was the last meal of our trip and sad to say also the only disappointing meal. We ordered two apps (goats cheese salad and Calamari) and two mains (meat platter and grilled salmon) and wine. The apps had no distinctive flavour, however the mains were the biggest let down, we had tried 10 other restaurants during our stay and this one was the only one to disappoint.. every single one of the meats was extremely over cooked on the platter which is almost impressive to do (also no steak knife was offered to assist, not that it really could have) and the salmon was glazed in a off putting clearly store bought sauce. Even when showing that we were off putt by the food the servers didn’t seem to care or question it. If you’re looking for a great dining experience in Las Terrenas this unfortunately isn’t it. Our meal totalled $6000 DOP only to pick up a snack on the way home.
