Rincón Soleado Bar & Restaurante — Restaurant in Las Terrenas

Reviews looked great online so we went on in. Its outside of Terrenas on the way to Punta Popy beach. The atmosphere was great, aside from the annoying flies but thats expected out here. Every restaurant has flies, so they use fans to deter the flies. The fans were on, but not pointed at us. There were no remaining customers, so figured it would be common sense for the waitress to turn the fan towards us seeing that we ordered fish and were swatting flies the entire time we ‘tried’ to eat. But she didnt. That was just the beginning of mediocre service from the waitress who was doing the bare minimum. The food took a long time to come out. I had enough time to go through all my texts, my emails, and more while waiting. I observed the same wait time for other customers who eventually walked in. Now onto the food… I ordered a whole fried fish (pescado entero). This is a popular dish on this side of the island being a beach town. The fish came out and it was poor quality. I asked my wife to try it, and she said the fish was most likely refried. It was overly dry inside. Bad taste. It was fish from maybe the day before and was already cooked. After having so many fresh fish in Samana, i knew something was off. I couldnt finish the fish. I had to force myself to a few bites. My wife informed the waitress who said she was going to kitchen to inquire with the chef but didnt. She just didnt care. Premium price for poor quality fish. On the only bright side, my wife ordered a bandera (rice, beans, chicken) and...

Went for lunch and left hungry and angry!!! My wife ordered the Rabo encendido. She received 2 bones with barely any meat and it was not good at all. It was not spicy and did not taste good. I order a Paila dominicana...it was shameful. It claimed to include salad and all i got was plain cabbage not even seasoned. I ordered chicken with it. I asked the server not to give me any chicken wings. When my meal arrived it had chicken wings. I complained and send the food back. after waiting for 10 min a new waiter came with the same good back. Explaining that the chef could not take the food. All i asked was for the salad and the replacement of the wing. Bad handling of a simple situation and wasted my time. By the time my food was back not only not what i ordered, but cold. I was so mad that i asked for the check and left the food. In the new waiter's defense he try to make things rights, he pleaded with the owner and remove my dish. Also he was not the one that took my order. It was a lady who was gone for some reason. What is even more disappointing is that the owner was there and did not even attenpted to address my concern. I do not like to write bad reviews as i know i can impact a business, but this one is well deserved as it a simple piece of chicken replacement, a little dressing on the "salad" and better handling of the situation could have better the situation. Si pudiera calificarles con un 0, lo haría., comenzaré por decirles que mi esposa y yo vinimos desde estados unidos con una lista de lugares a los que queríamos ir. Entre esos estaba rincón soleado, desafortunadamente cuando llegamos la mesera tomó mi orden de forma incorrecta le había ordenado unas canastas de chicharrón y el lugar de me llevó unas canastas rellenas de pulpo, camarón, y otros seafood. Al notar que no era lo que había ordenado, se lo hice saber a la mesera y ella procedió a llevarse el plato para la cocina, al regresar pude notar que las canastas eran las mismas y que lo único que hicieron fue cambiar la proteína, gracias a Dios que yo no soy alérgica a ningún marisco, pues de haberlo sido no sé qué hubiese pasado conmigo ni siquiera se tomaron la delicadeza de hacer el plato de nuevo. Hice caso omiso con eso pues no quería sonar grosera y al final como dije que no soy alérgica me comí mis canastas y traté de pasar un buen rato. Cuando llegó el momento de mi comida mi plato fuerte, mi esposa ordenó un Mofongo de camarones mixto, yo por mi parte ordené la paila dominicana que tenía que traer arroz, habichuela ,ensalada ,aguacate y como lección de proteína podías coger pollo o cerdo a lo que yo escogí cerdo. cuando los platos fuertes llegaron a la mesa el de mi esposa llegó correcto yel mío llegó con carne de res al percatarme que era carne de res le hice saber a la mesera rápidamente, a lo que ella me respondió que yo pedí eso y que no pedí cerdo, a lo que yo le respondí no! nunca estuvo como opción la carne de res en el menú dice o cerdo o pollo y yo te pedí cerdo, y esto que tiene mi comida no es ni cerdo ni pollo en el hipotético caso. También le dije ni siquiera tengo aguacate y eso estaba supuesto a salir con aguacate, ella sólo se retiró de la mesa y no me resolvió nada, otra mesera se acercó y me preguntó que si todo estaba bien con la comida, a la cual le dije el incidente que ya había ocurrido y esta se tomó un momento para ir a la cocina, regresó a mi mesa a lo que me respondió que los cocineros dijeron que eso no era res porque la de ellos tiene hueso y esa aparentaban no tener hueso, no sé como ellos sabían esto ya que el plato no había vuelto a la cocina, señores o sea no hay forma de confundir cerdo con res son dos carnes completamente distintas con texturas distintas ,con sabores distintos. Quién se suponía que tenía que ser mi mesera originalmente más nunca volvió a mirar a la mesa, tuve que esperar casi 20 minutos para que me entregaran mi cuenta, y tuve que pedirle la cuenta yo a una cajera que ni siquiera era parte del staff de los meseros. Mi cuenta me hizo 3000 y algo de pesos a lo que yo no estuve para nada conforme porque ni siquiera pude comerme la comida ya que yo no quería sino que quería hacer, pero para evitar un problema y hacer una situación de eso cuando estamos de vacaciones en el país preferí dejarlo así y retirarme. Nadie se acercó a mí, nadie tuvo la delicadeza de preguntarme si todo estuvo bien, si podían remediar esa situación, ni siquiera para despedirme nadie pudo tan siquiera decirme que tengas un feliz resto del día, la mesera me vio marchar junto a mi esposa y ni siquiera pudo decir disculpe los inconvenientes espero que tengan buen día.

Definitivamente rincón soleado no es un sitio al que volvería ni al que recomendaría a nadie volver, es bastante desagradable para una persona ir a un sitio con el deseo de tener una buena experiencia y llevarse como resultado un servicio tan pésimo como este, y no es como que su comida tampoco tengan buen precio en relación a la cantidad, y al servicio recibido por no sólo una mesera sino dos .

No, no te recomiendo ir al rincón soleado, hay muchísimos mejores lugares a los cuales puedes ir pagar menos, y tener un muy buen servicio. Yo es esa experiencia a la califico como...
