Loved the experience with the "Helado the Paila", the atmosphere, decoration and service. We went there looking for a great experience, and it was worth it. This is the restaurant of the hotel of the same name.

We tried coffee, chocolate, "espumilla", "helado de paila" and empanadas, but gonna talk about it in a bit.

Everything was nicely served and the "cucurucho" experience with the ice cream was great and different. We loved it. It's served in a steamy plate that mimics a magic potion. You have to take a picture of it. Plus, the presence of a beloved character in Quito's culture, it's an awesome mix.

The only complaint was empanadas. Too greasy, the dough was too thick so they felt heavy. We ordered the "de viento" empanadas plus the general order of four, which comes with a variety of them.

Lovely café in Quito's historic center within the Hotel Plaza Grande. I had the Seco de pollo al estilo mañana and the chicken was one of the best, if not the best, meals I had in Quito. Mostly because the sauce was so good! The chicken was tender and not overcooked. Everyone in our party said their food was delicious. There were multiple birthdays when we were there which was fun.
