The hotel felt like someone's private home - the stairs and hallways were richly and tastefully decorated, and we were received with a warm welcome from the staff. Our room, although relatively small, was well-furnished, contained everything necessary, and was otherwise quite enjoyable. The bathrooms were quite clean as well (though hot water was on and off). Breakfast was a highlight; the cooking was delicious and the staff were willing to accommodate the various dietary needs of our group while also introducing fruits and juices that were only available in Ecuador. The staff were incredibly kind too -- the night before our scheduled departure, our plane home was grounded at the last minute which meant our group of 16 was essentially stranded in Quito. The interior is magnificent, the artwork and the antique pieces placed perfectly around the main floor and on each of the three floors invite one to linger and look and appreciate. Our room was beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed and pillows, the bathroom was large with a wonderful shower, a minibar which we did not use but it was available if we chose to. We did eat a delicious dinner there one evening as well as large and very good breakfasts in the small and charming dining room. The view from the top floor with or without the telescope up there is very cool, and I want to take my husband back to see more of Quito as we will return to Ecuador, a fantastic country with SO muc...
First the Positive..Staff was very helpful, hotel is like a museum. Now the Negative...After staying for 5 days we had to leave 1 day early due to World Wide Corona-virus Pandemic. When desk clerk called management, they refused to offer a refund for our last day (even though we asked a day and a half in advance). I guess keeping our $135 is more important to them then having a satisfied customer. This greed is very SAD as most businesses around the world are Working with Customers to help keep everyone SAFE!
