I am staying at a friend's place in Quito and I asked him for a recommendation for my fiancée and I to go out last night. He recommended this place and made a reservation for us. I went online and saw all the negative reviews. This is absolutely not the kind of place I would go to where I live. But since my friend was kind enough to make a reservation for us, we decided to try. When we arrived at the entrance, the guy at the entrance told us "we were not on the list of reservations" and suggested we had a drink at the bar and maybe, they would have a table later. My friend confirmed the reservation was made and confirmed under my name. I didn't even try to argue as this was pretty much in line with the reviews I had read. This brainless stupid security guard actually did us a favor as we ended up having dinner at this beautiful and much nicer restaurant called Zazu 3 minutes from this dump. Don't waste your time with this kind of over hyped places and stick to "really" classy places like...

La atención y la organización es terrible! Me habría encantado leer las reseñas antes de ir porque veo que lo que me pasó ayer no es nada nuevo en el lugar. Fui por mi cumpleaños e hice una reserva por su página de Instagram, nadie me preguntó mi nombre y supuse que lo habían visto en mi perfil, realicé la reserva a las 5pm sin tener ni idea que el show empezaba a las 10pm. Llegué un poco tarde pero igual lo informé mediante instagram. Habría sido genial que alguien me informara respecto a esto ya que cuando llegué el guardia de la puerta muy prepotente me dijo a mi y a mi mamá “que quieren?” Le comenté que tenía una reserva y el se sorprendió al saber que era a esa hora y nos dijo que no tenían mi nombre, se tomó su tiempo en preguntar adentro si podían recibirnos y al entrar el lugar estaba vacío, nos acomodaron en una mesa y el menú lamentablemente no cargaba pero la mesera muy gentil me lo envío a mi WhatsApp. Una vez ahí y habiendo ordenado se nos acerca otro señor, no sé si era de seguridad o mesero pero con una pésima actitud nos dijo “están aquí desde el lunch y hay un tiempo en el que pueden permanecer, van a tener que retirarse porque tengo reservada la mesa” primero NO estábamos ahí desde el lunch, y le comenté que yo TAMBIÉN tengo una reserva y nos ubicaron ahí. Empezaron a reorganizar las mesas y nos hicieron sentir incómodos mirándonos como si esperaran que ya nos fuéramos. Otro mesero muy gentil se acercó antes y fue a él a quien le pedí la cuenta y también le comenté todo lo sucedido, como es posible que nadie haya realizado nuestra reserva y si era muy temprano habría sido ideal que nos avisen! Le expliqué también como este otro caballero nos pidió la mesa, y nuestro mesero Johnny, fue a hablar con los encargados. CABE RECALCAR QUE NINGÚN ENCARGADO O MANAGER SE ACERCÓ A OFRECERNOS UNA DISCULPA/EXPLICACIÓN. En todo momento fue Johnny-el mesero quien ofreció disculpas. Decidimos quedarnos y ordenar algo- la comida tenía buen sabor al igual que los cócteles y SOLO POR ESO DEJO UNA ESTRELLA. Al salir nuevamente tuvimos una mala experiencia porque no nos entregaron la factura y sin eso no nos permitían salir!!! No volvería nunca ni recomendaría el lugar, por el contrario me es importante que las personas sepan el mal rato que van a pasar allí. Ah y fui allí porque era la celebración de mi cumpleaños. Entiendo que a los malos comentarios nadie de este lugar los responde, entonces voy a postwar esto en mis redes sociales para ver si de esa manera alguien se comunica conmigo. Finalmente le informé a Johnny que iba a dejar este review en Google pero antes de hacerlo quería comunicarlo en el lugar para ver que solución me ofrecían y solo fue un cóctel de cortesía por...

You want a taste of hidden racism in Ecuador? By all means, visit this place. Despite having a 12 person reservation in place and confirming 30 minutes before arriving if the reservation was still active, our full group was denied entry upon arrival. The excuse: the reservation is confirmed, but because we have another group that made a reservation, yours is cancelled. Try again another time. Looks like a joke? but no. Seems this place prides itself into having the most sophisticated group of white tourists in the city, even allowing entry to patrons wearing sneakers and ripped jeans.
