Visited in June 2019. Pros: -Very modern, welcoming, and elegant in appearance. -Rooms are very clean (You won’t find bugs in the bathroom, or a musty smell in the rooms/hallway, unlike other hotels I’ve been to nearby Quito). -Staff is very kind and accommodating and greet you with a smile. My room always gets tidied up perfectly. -A card is used to scan into your room instead of a bulky key. -Showers are handheld with a rain feature at the push of a button, and you can adjust the water pressure. (Same with the sinks!) -Lighting is nice and bright. There is a lamp near each bed for extra lighting, as well as an adjustable reading light near each bed. There are several light switches in the bathroom (including a “touch-screen” light on the mirror). -Beds are comfortable (I stayed in a double). -There’s a safe in the room to store valuables, but I’ve left my laptop and phone charger in plain sight several times and nothing was stolen. -There’s a big flat-screen TV in the rooms. -Free guest wifi that actually works well. -Rooms are kept at a comfortable temperature. -A bottle of water is given in the rooms each day; you can ask for another at the front desk. -Meals are good, with reasonable prices.
Cons: -Beds (in a double) are slightly smaller than a couple other hotels I’ve been to nearby. -Laundry is expensive and you pay by item. (But there are laundromats nearby the hotel; I highly recommend Lavandería Beni about a mile away, as it’s the cheapest.)

Read moreI really really wanted to like this place, it’s cute, clean, and modern. But the service was the worst I’ve ever had here in Ecuador. This seems to be the spirit airlines of hotels. They give you one price and then after you arrive charge for everything else. 2 people in the room? $23. Coffee in the morning? $2. Would you like drinking water? $1.25. They also have the thermostats set so that after 30 minutes they go back up to a higher temperature so if you want to be comfortable it requires getting out of bed every 30 minutes to turn the temp back down. In the elevators they have signs saying “all sandwiches in the restaurant come with free soda”. Great! We went and got some sandwiches with sodas and then after you’re done they say “that will be $7 for the sodas”. When I complained that the sign says they are free with the meal they said it was an old sign and no longer applied. Absolutely no effort to fix it. Not even a “sorry”. The customer service here is non existent unfortunately. From here on out I will be going to the Wyndham that treats people with much more respect...
Read moreI stayed at the Ibis Quito for 3 nights. The hotel is about 15 minutes away from Quito Old Town. Public Transportation is nearby, cheap n easy to use. I wrote to this hotel well in advance asking for a room in the higher floors. They were prompt and replied promising me the request. Upon checking in, the unfriendly ladies at the reception said I can only get a room on floor 1 because all the other floors are under renovations. I could clearly see the elevators going all the way up and down. I asked to see the manager, a friendly guy he asked the receptionists to book me on floor 4. Just imagine that the ladies do a terrible job at lying, they are unfriendly and give the hotel a bad look. The room is modern, small but clean. TV was ok channels in English and Spanish. No desk to do work. The breakfast was very good and the staff at the breakfast were very...
