I'm just going to share an email I have sent to the management of this establishment as my review:
Dear Management,
I am writing to express concern about treatment I received at your Quito restaurant. I attended dinner tonight with my cousin who is visiting from Canada and after arriving for our reservation at 8pm, we asked to use the bathroom before we sat down to eat. Within a minute, one of your staff followed us into the bathroom in a manner that appeared to be checking on us. This made us feel very uncomfortable and when we asked why we were followed into the bathroom, no explanation was really given. In fact, your employee was very defensive and made no acceptable attempt to explain or appease the situation.
As a tourist, my cousin was very unsettled in your establishment by this behaviour. There is no reasonable situation that could ever occur to explain following anyone into a bathroom. It is very weird social behaviour in any culture.
I hope you take on board my comments by ensuring indiscriminately good and fair treatment of all of your customers in the future.
Unfortunately, you have forever lost my patronage and recommendation over this incident.
Yours...

The maitre d’ was very pleasing welcoming and attentive.
The menu has a variety to offer, from classic pasta to ensalata to pizza to more elaborate meat and fish. The wine list isn’t extensive but has a sampling of good Italians.
The Insalata di Mare was a gem. It was a delightful cacophony of shellfish with a warm broth, very atypical for a salad. Exequisite😎
The Coniglia was superb: generous serving of perfectly cooked and well seasoned rabbit in a creamy wine reduction sauce garnished with risotto mushrooms —-WOW🤩 it went so well with a glass of newly opened I Muri red 🍷(perfect pairing, too bad that I can’t manage a whole bottle).
Strawberries with Limoncello was the perfect dessert, finishing with of course Double Espresso.
Oh the prices are very...

Everything from the food to the service was by far the best experience we've had during our stay in Quito (everyone else was good, but these guys were great!). Excellent meal coupled with a surprise antipasto dish delivered as we sat down and a palate cleanser at the end of the night. Juan Domingo was a wonderful host, translating our orders to our equally delightful waiter Rolando (I swear, he's like magic! I'd blink and my wine glass was refilled or my empty plate was cleared away) along with delivering food and making sure everything moment of our meal was the best it could be. I am sad only that there's no way I could get the Limoncello or other homemade Italian goods they make home with me, and that I'll have to come back to Quito to experience...
