I visited the restaurant for the first time with high expectations, especially after seeing the stunning photos and videos circulating on social media. Coming all the way from Zayed, I was excited to try it out, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing.
Reservation Experience: I made the reservation via WhatsApp, where they required the full names of all guests. The reservation was confirmed for 10 PM with a message outlining the entry conditions and the restaurant’s system. We requested a high table, which was acknowledged.
Upon Arrival: When we arrived, the staff insisted on matching names with individuals, despite not having any prior details other than just the names. This seemed unnecessary and a bit disorganized. We were then informed that high tables couldn’t be reserved after 9:30 PM, even though this was not communicated at the time of booking. To make matters worse, several high tables were available inside the restaurant, which was frustrating.
Service: The service fell short of expectations. For a restaurant that presents itself as a high-end establishment, I expected better attention to detail and overall service quality. Unfortunately, it did not meet the 5-star standards that were implied.
Food Quality: The food, however, was good. It wasn’t exceptional, but it was enjoyable and well-prepared. Still, it wasn’t enough to make up for the other shortcomings.
Cleanliness: One of the biggest disappointments was the cleanliness, especially the bathrooms. For the entire duration of our visit, which lasted over 3 hours, the bathrooms were not clean, which is unacceptable for a restaurant of this level.
Overall Impression: I left feeling let down. The restaurant does not live up to the hype or the social media images and videos that got me excited in the first place. It’s quite an ordinary experience, and the much-promoted entry conditions aren’t even enforced inside the restaurant.
In conclusion, while the food was good, the overall experience did not meet the expectations created by the social media buzz. I hope the restaurant can address these issues to improve the experience for future customers.
This review clearly expresses my experience, from the reservation to the service, while also emphasizing your disappointment after traveling from Zayed...
Read moreONE STAR - False Promises Our engagement celebration at Sangria was an utter disaster due to their blatant false advertising and hypocritical enforcement of policies. We specifically chose Sangria based on their reservation team's repeated assurances of a vibrant "clubbing atmosphere" with loud commercial music for dancing from 9 PM to midnight, followed by Arabic music from 12 AM to 2 AM. This was a complete lie. The reality was a subdued, almost silent, house music playlist at a volume so low it felt like background noise in a library. This was the antithesis of the energetic, celebratory ambiance we were promised and desperately wanted for our engagement. When we complained, management stated they were a "fine dining" establishment until midnight, directly contradicting the "clubbing" experience they aggressively sold us during booking. This bait-and-switch tactic is dishonest and unacceptable. Adding insult to injury was their discriminatory and nonsensical guest admission policy. Despite providing a guest list, our friends were arbitrarily denied entry due to an undefined "ratio," even though the venue was clearly not full. This caused immense embarrassment and disrupted our group. Moreover, their resistance to two additional guests aged 23 was baffling, considering younger patrons were freely admitted in other groups. The hypocrisy extended to their dress code. We were explicitly told only turbans were acceptable head coverings. Yet, inside, we observed fully veiled women in traditional hijab, directly contradicting their stated policy. This selective enforcement was offensive and led to several of our veiled guests feeling unwelcome and cancelling. Sangria's reservation team provided completely false information about the atmosphere, their management contradicted these lies upon arrival, and their policies were applied inconsistently and seemingly arbitrarily. This combination of blatant misrepresentation and discriminatory practices completely ruined our engagement celebration and the experience for our approximately 50 guests. DO NOT trust their promises. DO NOT expect a clubbing atmosphere. DO NOT expect consistent or fair treatment. Sangria's false advertising and hypocritical policies turned our special day into a deeply disappointing...
Read moreNestled in New Cairo, this upscale restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone looking to indulge in an extraordinary culinary experience. The ambiance alone hints at the gastronomic adventure ahead – refined, elegant, and buzzing with anticipation.
To start, the seafood black pasta is a must-try for anyone craving something unique. The pasta is perfectly cooked, infused with subtle hints of oceanic brine and a deep, rich flavor that seafood lovers will relish. Delicately prepared with a fine touch, the dish is a balance of textures and flavors, blending freshness with finesse. The beef filler mignon is also amazing well-prepared and cooked.
For dessert, the crème brûlée was just normal, I expected something extraordinary, but it wasn't up to the level. It has been made with a satisfyingly crisp caramelized top and a velvety, creamy interior the same as usual of crème brûléle, it provides a good balance of sweetness. They serve it in three different flavors coffee, standard, and raspberries, for me, the raspberry flavor was very good.
The problem is the small portions and high prices. Indeed, the portion sizes may leave you longing for a bit more, but the quality of each dish makes every bite count.
Overall, this restaurant is a destination for those with a passion for unique, luxurious flavors. However, again you should take into account that prices are high already compared to the portions. Additionally, this place serves liquor, so if you do not feel comfortable in such places don't go and for sure never...
