TGI Friday's Cairo Festival City Mall — Restaurant in Cairo

I am sorry, but this was one of the two worst steaks I’ve had in my life.

It was the first day of Ramadan and I did not eat all day out of respect for my friends and colleagues. At sundown I went to the City of Stars mall. Great mall! Love the mall! I was hungry and could have eaten cardboard, which probably would have been better than the steak.

The waitress was friendly, attentive, and well trained and I tipped her generously to make sure she knew I appreciated her.

The onion rings were excellent and the best part of the meal.

The side salad was fine and a good portion.

The large cut of the strip steak was horrific. Strip is the key word. A strip of silver skin ran all the way through it and two ran opposite. Cutting a piece of meat with the steak knife was useless. I threw 90% of the steak away. The meat tasted as if the animal had been starved before butchering it. Bad, bad, bad! The picture looks great but do not be deceived.

This is a small branch of TGI Friday’s. The seating area is located outside the restaurant itself: ground floor of city stars mall. All passerby’s have a full view of you and your group, which isn’t the most comfortable for many people.

I strongly recommend against their Lipton ice tea: they will quite literally make black tea using Lipton bags then cool it down and add some ice cubes. It is served with a syrup as a sweetener.

Horrible experience, don't eat here if you want fresh made food. Found a piece of plastic in my microwaved food. Apparently they prepare the food plates, wrap them up in plastic and heat them up when somebody orders it. I couldn’t believe what I heard when the server told me this. The manager did his best to made it up to me but the fact that the food is microwaved is just too much to ignore and the restaurant should definitely not be be open if they can’t serve fresh made food. This location is a shame...
