Pier 88 El Gouna — Restaurant in Red Sea

The place has lost its charm compared to its earlier years. Some issues we had: Despite reserving a table, we didn't get the one we had requested. The table we were seated at had chairs that were too small, making it uncomfortable to sit as our legs couldn't fit under the table. The bread served was hard. When we asked for fresh bread, we were told that it was from the same day. However, it doesn't matter when it was made because any bread left open for hours tends to become hard. The establishment had excessive plastic boards covering its surroundings.

As a result, we decided to leave after only ten minutes, even before placing our order. Pier 88 used to be a trendy and sophisticated place a decade ago, but it seems that the owner hasn't given it proper attention for quite some time. Nowadays, there are much better dining options available.

Finally, they have three booking windows: 18h-20h, 20h-22h, and from 22h onwards. If the place is no longer popular and doesn't adhere to its own reservation practices (since our table was booked from 20h onwards but was given to someone else who booked from 18h-20h), it might be better for them to abandon the...

We head there for dinner last night, 21st of July n2025. Let me list down our bad experiences : The bread basket is not only stale, it is refrigerator cold. FRESH, FRESH from the FRIDGE and not from the OVEN. We asked for a glass with ice twice, my husband ended up getting it himself from bar. We asked for ketchup 3 times. 3 TIMES!!! Take note, the place was even half empty. Imagine if it was full? It's a JOKE. We asked the to heat a dish, IT WAS COLD! How can you serve a cold main dish???? We ordered 3 coffee martinis and 1 of the martini glass has a crack, my friend nearly hurt her lip. Imagine showing your friend Gouna for the first time and this was her first restaurant experience? We returned the drink and asked them to cancel it. They agreed and gave us a complimentary sweet shots. They knew the danger it may have caused us. If you are planning to sit on the 2nd floor for dinner, wear long pants so you will not be eaten alive...
