A lovely place down by the river. Even when everywhere else seemed quiet this place was busy with both locals and tourists which is always a good sign. Service was very quick and professional - no hidden charges. We shared a few dishes: tahini, garlic bread, chicken shawarma, baba ganoush and tomato soup. A mix. The tahini was nice and seemed fresh, shawarma was very tasty but the fries with it were cold. The soup was nice and tasty and the ganoush also. Garlic bread a bit disappointing - I wouldn’t have ordered this again. It seemed like a store bought loaf with some cheese and pepper over baked on. Felt cheap when the free bread they gave with the tahini was far nicer. Views of the Nile are there, but not remarkable. You’re mostly blocked by a group of feluccas and taxi boats. Overall a good restaurant and we would definitely return.

The worst service. We ordered food for 6 people and the server wrote everything down. The food came out sporadically. They forgot several dishes and we had to ask for the rest of our order multiple times. In the end we still didn’t get 2 of the dishes we ordered and they charged us for them. One of the dishes they said they ran out and just gave us a random dish. They said that we need to keep an eye on the dish because the other servers will grab it and take it to their tables. This restaurant is also attached to a hookah bar. We pre-ordered the hookah and dessert so we can have it ready right after dinner. When we walked over there, they had nothing ready and acted surprised. so we placed our order again. We waited there for 40 minutes and ordered the same thing 10 times before we got our actual order. The food was ok, but the service was terrible. Would not recommend!!!

The food and the service at El-Kababgy were great! There is a nice view of the Nile which would be even better at sunset. We had just arrived in Luxor and we’re not sure how much to order so we started with the Starters Mix which came with a little of everything. We added some meat sambousek to round out the offerings and it was enough to serve as a full (light) meal for the two of us. There was cheese and meat sambousek, babaganoug, eggplant with garlic, bread with garlic, white cheese with olives, bread, and tahini. They even gave USA small complimentary oriental dessert that was quite tasty. We had delicious mint tea to wash down all of the yummy goodness. Our server Hamdi was gracious and very helpful. Overall great experience. We are looking forward to going back and catching a nearby boat ride on the Nile.

We needed a to go lunch ...and we selected this restaurant. It was a pleasant experience. Walked in to order food, but couldn't stay long because we were on our way to the airport. Staff Very VEry pleasant. Ordered Fresh Mango & Guave juice, plus Chicken Schwarma + Lamb sandwiches ... We were given a super treatment & it just warmed my heart to get their smiles and hospitaltiy. Loved the fresh juice, the sandwiches were good too, we just ate it at the airport, so it was a bit cold for us as we were on the road. Not bad. The view of the restaurant is amazing. Next time (God Willing) we will dine in. Thank Yo for the kindness, I do not remember the manager name, but he was so kind and asked how things were on our way out, and I promised to make this review on his behalf. THANK YOU! We chose this place as it was the only place to not hassle us to go in. We had a great seat with lovely views of the nile. We were bought out salad, bread and dips for free which was a lovely little appetiser along with drinks we ordered. When we was ready to order food we gave the signal to the waiter who promptly came and took our order. Food came quick and was clearly freshly made. I had chicken shish tawook which came with fries and it tasted as good as it looked. Toilets were clean but I had no toilet paper in the cubicle I went in. This place is a great place to stop for food and would definitely recommend, the only negative I have is that there is a 12.5% tax charge which is fine but not mentioned anywhere until you see it on the bill.

Sometimes it can be tough traveling around Egypt because someone is always trying to sell you something whether it be a service or a good you are constantly hassled. This restaurant did the exact opposite and that’s why I really like this restaurant. I was able to sit in peace, and enjoy the view ofof the Nile River. I came here for lunch, and I ordered pigeon. This also came with complementary bread with baba ghanoush and tahini. Amazing place and I liked so much that I even came here for dinner. For dinner I ordered the moussaka. This also came with bread, salad and baba ghanoush. I also ordered some dessert for to go. it was a crêpe with honey and Nutella. Overall amazing restaurant in Luxor and I definitely recommend it.
