Thebes (Tebaa) Restaurant — Restaurant in Al Baairat Village

I went into the restaurant twice whilst I was on holiday to have a relaxing chat and hot chocolate. However, the second time I visited whilst I was drinking the hot chocolate I found some hard bits which I put on the saucer. I didn't think too much of it until the middle of the night when my tummy became very upset. I was bit annoyed because the rest of the holiday I had been fine and this had left me quite weak. I don't know whether it was the milk or something else. There seems to be lots of good reviews so I don't know why I had the bad experience. I would advise just checking the milk if have a very milky tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

In relation to your reply I only came for a drink and yes it was fine the first time. I didn't come tonight and I'm not sure whom I supposed to of said everything was fine to. When I visited nobody asked if everything was ok and I did not reply yes. I got up to pay and paid at the kitchen area and said don't worry if you don't have the change. I also did leave two bits of something not sure what this was that came from the chocolate on my saucer, I have no reason to make this up. Reviews are meant as honest feedback i left this as I was a bit disappointed I'd been unwell after. The owner of the nearby hotel who was with me whilst we were chatting said it was most likely the milk. We'd both eaten together before arriving and I was the only one that had milk with their drink. Great service, price and food! I had Greek salad, cheese omelette and kofta sandwich. all delicious 😋. only negative thing I could say would be we got alot of flies when eating but we can't blame the owners for that. Great meal thanks 😊

hello again! I've tried to do a separate review as we have ordered food to takeaway away today but it won't allow me to do as ive already done a review so ill add onto this one! we ordered Spanish omelette 😋 filo stuffed with cheese 🧀, Greek salad 🥗, chicken soup 🍲, kofa sandwich 🥪 and chicken sandwich 🥪. all amazing food m! probably the best I've had in egypt over the last 10 days. the owners are lovely and genuinely really nice people. they even gave us some watermelon and dips to go with our food. all in was 300 Egyptian pounds which is £5 gbp. well done team and we can't recommend you enough. also my partner and I are both chefs and we can't fault...

Edit: 23 April 2023. After the owner reached out to us after our bad experience a couple of days ago (see below) we called in today to see him. Ahmed and Mohammed were very apologetic, and appreciative of the feedback It seems there is one 'bad apple' on the staff. They graciously provided us with a lovely lunch at no cost. Also explained they have worked extremely hard to build their business and reputation. It was lovely to talk to such genuine and hospitable people.

Just be careful. We went for lunch, and had chicken schwarmer sandwich. 50 Egyptian pounds on the menu. When we came to pay the bill, the owner charged us more than twice as much.
