I decided to order some food from this place, expecting an authentic Italian experience. What I didn’t expect was to get yelled at by the person taking my order. Apparently, asking about rice with my meal was some kind of culinary sin. I’m sorry I didn’t memorize the sacred Italian menu by heart, but the attitude was completely unnecessary. I get it, Italy is known for pasta, not rice, but does that really warrant a mini tantrum over the phone?
Now onto the food… where do I even begin? Let’s start with the fish. Imagine you’re biting into something that looks like it just came out of a frozen dinner box. Except, instead of any taste, it’s a flavor vacuum. It was as if the fish had been swimming in a pool of despair before meeting its sad, rubbery fate on my plate. I honestly wondered if the chef might’ve thought bland was the new trendy flavor. If that’s the case, he nailed it. Bravo, chef, for creating the world’s most tasteless fish dish.
Then there was the steak. You know, Italians are known for their passion, and this steak seemed to have soaked up all the passion by becoming an unbreakable fortress of meat. We literally could not cut it – at one point, I thought maybe I needed a chainsaw instead of a steak knife. I’ve had tough steaks before, but this one was a whole new level of absurd. Maybe I should’ve offered it to the local blacksmith to hammer into armor because it certainly wasn’t fit for eating.
I can almost imagine the chef in the kitchen, smugly crafting these dishes as if they were masterpieces while muttering something like, “Ah, perfectio! Only true Italians will appreciate this rubber fish and rock-hard steak!” Well, newsflash, chef: neither I, nor anyone else with functioning taste buds, appreciated it.
Long story short, the food was as underwhelming as the attitude I got when ordering. If the chef’s goal was to make me regret every bite, mission...
Read moreI lived in Italy when I was young, and currently live in Korea. Korea is one of the countries with a very developed dining culture. Therefore, I think I have a good understanding of Italian food. This is especially true of Italian restaurants, and by traveling to 50 countries, I was able to experience the dining cultures of various countries. The problem with this restaurant is the service I will only talk about the service This restaurant is 3-4 times more expensive than other restaurants in Dahab. Therefore, this restaurant can be considered a high-end restaurant in Dahab (water costs 90 pounds, supermarket 10 pounds). However, the service at this restaurant is worse than the 15 pounds sandwich place down the street. The employees don't even say hello and guide you with a blunt expression. Our server Mohammed made a mistake with our order and we waited. The food came again only after my friend had finished eating it. Afterwards, I received the bill, but the amount was not correct. I was charged a much higher price The customer doesn't know if it was done on purpose or by mistake. If I hadn't checked, it would have been a big problem I complained to the boss and he said he was sorry, but Mohammed looked aggrieved. Again, this is a high-end restaurant in Dahab, so it must be treated like a high-end restaurant. They sell Neapolitan food, but it doesn't feel like Neapolitan. Two days later, I visited to give him another chance, but Mohammed screamed that he would not talk to me. He was deprived of the opportunity A lot is included in the price The price of the pasta was 500 pounds, but in my opinion, 130 pounds is reasonable. If it was a 130 pound pasta place, I wouldn't have complained. Owner and Mohammd have to research and work harder to get 500 pounds or can just lower the price. Choose...
Read moreI was refused service at this place today at exactly 10:45pm claiming last order is at 11pm ... okay so without debating that I'm still within limits, my wife and decided to leave and find another place... on our way out a saudi men's group entered without reservation as they were debating going in the place or not... when they did decide to go in they were greeted with arms wide open... maybe I should have mentioned at the door that I'm a US citizen and so is my wife to be allowed in I don't know... then when I confronted the waiter this is what I got:
It's the owner and his group of friends and they would probably want to be served drinks, I don't like it myself but blah blah... would you like em to prepare an order for you take away (meaning they still can prepare and probably recognizing he messed up) I said no then he was surprised why I wanted to make a complaint to the police.... instead I want to make that complaint here that my wife and I got discriminated against for not declaring our nationality and wealth... and I would love to hear from the Saudi owner himself
Before you get judgemental, I had previously lived in the GCC and can tell a suadi dialect when I hear it
I will still be making an official complaint and will be taking this to social media me and my modestly famous wife with more than 20k followers though... except if the owner is truly suadi and responded himself as claimed...
