Red Sea Tribe - Dahab — Local services in South Sinai

I came to Dahab only planning to snorkel the Blue Hole. I am more comfortable swimming in a swimming pool and I do not like swimming where I cannot see the bottom. I was with two girls who wanted to try diving for the first time ever and I still was uninterested. I watched them suit up and walked through the experience and suddenly it seemed like something I could do! They decided to return the next morning for a second dive and I decided to try my first dive as well! My instructor was Ali Smiley, he made everything calm and easy. Each person was offered one on one instruction and brought into the Red Sea. The instructors took their time to make sure that I was comfortable in the water when I could still easily touch the bottom. The instructors even have you float on your back while they put the fins on for you. I felt like Cinderella of the sea! Once they felt I was comfortable breathing with the mask, they led me deeper into the water at a slow, calm and gradual pace. They cued me every step of the way to make sure the mask was clear, to swallow or plug my nose in order to make my ears pop from the pressure. They cued constantly asking if I was okay or needed help fixing my mask or ears. They pointed out fish and took care of everything under the water. My husband and I have been to Dahab several times but this time it had been 8 years since we last dived. We decided to try Red Sea Tribe upon recommendation from friends who dived with them a few weeks previously and also because the location was convenient for our accommodation at Assala. We were impressed by the professionalism of the outfit, the friendly welcome and service and great attention to briefing, safety and equipment. Shady and the team really looked after us, from a first skills refresher dive, which was thorough but relaxed, through 8 more dives for me and 10 more for my husband, including one night dive for us both - the night dive at Lighthouse never fails to deliver something new! I had to skip a day due to illness and with that too I was well looked after. Shady sent out for some special Bedouin herbs for me, Ali smiley diver took care of me on the dives whilst I was a little iffy and helped me with my equipment. We had a lot of fun diving with him. From the moment I met the team at Red Sea Tribe I felt right at home! Every member of the team was welcoming and encouraging and created amazing vibes from the beginning of the experience till the end. I’ve done the introductory dive, open water course, and 2 boat dives - all amazing experiences.

All the divers at Red Sea Tribe are extremely experienced, trustworthy, & fun to be around. In particular, my open water course instructor, Halim, taught and explained everything I needed to know in a clear and concise way, making sure that I understood everything while making the whole experience fun! You can tell he really enjoys teaching and made sure I was confident with the skills I was struggling with the most.

My guide for the introductory and boat dives was Selim - he was excellent and was able to patiently help me overcome obstacles I was having with clearing my mask, equalizing and maintaining my buoyancy during my dives.
