⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Brutto in San Salvador is a culinary gem that delivers an unforgettable dining experience, and much of that is thanks to our exceptional server, Mario. From the moment we stepped in, Mario made us feel like honored guests, bringing a wealth of knowledge and passion for both the cuisine and the restaurant.
We indulged in an array of dishes that showcased Brutto’s innovative approach to flavor and presentation: TERCIOPELO This sushi roll was one of the best we’ve ever had. The combination of Kani Osaki, Masago, and Soybean Paper was elevated by the clarified butter and Soya-Yuzu, offering an impeccable balance of taste and texture. PORKBELLY A dish that was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and bursting with flavor. The Miso BBQ glaze, crunchy corn, and jalapeño created a harmonious blend that was a delight to the palate. BRUSSEL SPROUTS Perfectly crisp with a satisfying crunch, these were accompanied by a spicy and yogurt-based sauce, topped with herbs for an added layer of flavor. HUEVO ESTRELLADO 2.0 This dish was a standout, with Mario suggesting we mix everything together and spread it on the bread. The combination of sous-vide egg, truffle, and smoked paprika was simply divine. TACO DON JULIO Marinated pork with grilled pineapple and a creamy pineapple sauce made this a top contender for our favorite dish. The 72-hour marination resulted in a tender, flavorful experience that was unmatched. HANGER STEAK (Wagyu Cut) A special off-menu recommendation by Mario, this steak was perfectly cooked and tied with the Don Julio Tacos for our favorite dish. The quality of the Wagyu was evident in every bite. COOKIE DOUGH FONDANT We ended our meal with this indulgent dessert. The Chocolate Tuile balanced the sweetness of the fondant and vanilla ice cream beautifully, making it the perfect conclusion to our meal.
What truly set this visit apart was Mario’s dedication to enhancing our dining experience. His detailed explanations of each dish, thoughtful recommendations, and genuine care for our satisfaction made this the best dining experience we’ve had in any city we’ve visited. Mario’s passion for his craft and the exceptional food at Brutto have left an indelible mark on us. We can’t wait to return and trust Mario with our next culinary adventure.

Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars I would. I have no ulterior motive to write this review but for the sake of saving a human being’s life. God forbid, you could be fighting for your life and the staff here would leave you on the floor to die.
I’m a healthy human being but unfortunately mysteriously fainted and had a seizure (cause still unknown and first time it’s ever happened to me) while at the Brutto El Salvador restaurant. I was unconscious, non responsive and wasn’t breathing. Not saying the food caused it but If you’re curious I had a glass of sangria and, “seared” (not seared at all) hamachi nigiri —it was rancid, steer clear.
Long story short, not ONE staff member came to our table to help. There was no sense of urgency…in fact they walked AROUND our table WHILE I WAS ON THE FLOOR. No ambulance was called by them, not one person attended to us, the manager didn’t even come up to acknowledge the situation. My own family had to act fast and be my own response team. We ended up getting an uber ourselves to transport me to the hospital. When I finally gained consciousness, my family carried me out, and while my mother was still mindful to pay for the bill, a lady who was one of the staff members had the AUDACITY to walk up to my mom and ask her how much of a percentage she was going to leave for tip!
So imagine going on vacation with your family thinking this place is safe to eat, something happens to you, your family is screaming for help but no one cares to come to the rescue. It was disgusting and morbid behavior.
I wish this upon NO family as to what my family had to go through. We’re still recovering from such a traumatic event. All in all, this place left a bad taste in our mouths—figuratively and literally.
Side note—here’s the last photo I took of the “seared” hamachi before I fell...

From arrival, if you valet park your car you will take a private elevator to the high floor location. As a bonus, on departure they call up your car so it is waiting for you as you walk out.
Ambiance is modern and bright with well conceived design and lighting. The views are stunning even on a rainy night.
Expected starters range from a Tokyo quality sushi bar, east coast raw bar and a dozen or so creative small plates. Brutto roll, Sashimi, and stuffed dates are amazing choices among the 10 or so dishes we sampled.
Be sure to ask about off menu specialties. They have a Bao Bun that is spectacular. Though not a full plate, I had the Ensalada Bruto that was on of the most mouth popping salad combos I have ever experienced.
Dessert for us was Banana Lover. After a heavy meal it was light and refreshing.a perfect ending.
You can tell they are still working out the kinks here on a few things. Risotto and STT were over salted and for me unedible (others in our group were fine). Service as well lacked the polish of a true 5 star restaurant but you could tell they were trying and will certainly get there. Small things like ensuring drinks are always filled and clearing the table completely between each course are important. Small plates and sharables can come out separately but the main course must come all together. It was 13 minutes between when the first and last plate came out leaving several in our group with cold food. At no point did a maitre d' come to check in or apologize suggesting they were not even aware of the problem. I look forward to returning and seeing their progress to...
