The restaurant's spacious and neutral, yet warm space is elegant and suitable for plenty of occasions from breakfast to dinner. During our stay at the hotel we visited the restaurant twice for breakfast and once for dinner.
The breakfast is exceptionally plentiful. The buffet selection includes everything needed for a full English or American breakfast, as well as traditional Estonian and Nordic breakfast items and many more.
For dinner we had a three course meal. As a starter I took the tartare, which was my favorite individual dish of my stay in Tallinn. My main course was Pizzimbocca, a Napoletan style pizza/calzone hybrid that's supposed to be folded in half. The concept was interesting and the wood-fired oven made the dough crispy. For dessert I had the chocolate cake, which was sweet and plentiful. Our wine pairing for the meal was a bottle of Bosco de Merlo Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 for 33€ (if I remember correctly) which was a great choice. The total for two people for the three courses was approximately 58€ per person.
Overall, the experience was great for both the breakfast and dinner. Especially if you're staying at the Kreutzwald hotel I highly recommend paying...
Read moreI am yet to find some decent pizza in Tallinn. Had my hopes up for La Cucina based on the online photos and reviews, but... The service from the start was cold and hesitant. I ordered lunch menu pizza (Quattro Stagione) and it was something put together from the last year's leftovers. The olives were old. Very old. Ham was ok, but not a type you'd expect on an Italian pizza. Dough hadn't had enough time to develop the rich aromas and flavours that it is supposed to develop with this type of dough recipe. The result is a mediocre pizza with wet and sour crust and less than inviting toppings flavour-wise. 7.5 eur for lunch pizza looks like an ok price. But in the evening menu similar pizza is sold for about 16 eur. Not a price anyone should pay for what is...
Read moreSpontaneously went there for pizza and I must say I was not disappointed. Just by looking at the place, it’s not really promising since the interior and atmosphere could be better, but it was okay. The service was also bare minimum whilst also friendly and homely. The pizza, however, was extraordinarily delicious, one of the best pizzas I have eaten in Estonia. We ordered a classic margarita and crudo pizza, first one was good, nothing special, but the crudo was absolutely amazing, the perfect burrata pizza, it was all I could wish for. If you want a great pizza experience, do...
