We went to Ihamaru late at night after theatre when almost everything else was closed, so we weren't even sure whether we the kitchen was open. Surprisingly, we got one of the best pizzas I've ever got in this town. (Not that Tartu is famous for its ITalian cuisin, but still, that's over several decades.) Ihamaru's style seems best suited for people like me who are mostly fond of the various fillings with cheesy goodness and don't expect there to be a lot of thick, firm dough for bigorous chewing. There are some who like that kind of dough, so be warned: Ihamaru gives you a relatively thin, fresh, soft, and fragrant basis of dough covered with whatever their imagination and your wishes concoct. And it was covered with a small forest's share of mushrooms, just what we wanted.
Looking at their drink menu, I was almost sorry I don't drink much anymore. But we had a non-alcoholic IPA and that was excellent, too.
An hour before closing, the taproom was rather quiet, rather suitable for having a chat beside the meal. I suppose it is not that quiet in every evening, though, especially on the weekends. And the bill was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Ihamaru Pizza & Käbliku Brewery Taproom, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember. The pizza was outstanding - it had the perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings that left me feeling satisfied and craving for more. But what truly made this dining experience unique was the craft beer. I'm not even a huge beer drinker, but the flavors and aromas of each beer that I tried complemented the pizza so well that it made for an unforgettable combination. The cozy atmosphere of the taproom also made me feel right at home. I can't recommend this place enough - if you're looking for a place to have a delicious pizza and beer in Tartu, Ihamaru Pizza & Käbliku Brewery Taproom is the...
Read moreAfter checking the high reviews and looking at the pictures I went to try their Neapolitan style pizza. Our pizzas were quite different from the Neapolitan style, the frame was not high and the dough was not really grown. Our toppings were quite sour, probably coming from jars with quite much vinegar. I think the dough was the main problem, I felt quite heavy after eating it. Craft beers were good and the service was kind and friendly. As an Italian who loves Neapolitan pizza, the gap is still big from the real one. Next time I'll go for the simple Margherita as it's always a very safe choice, I hope to have a better experience and give them the...
