Gazebo Restaurant on the Park | ጋዜቦ ሬስቶራንት — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. It is situated in a garden, which is sheltered and overlooks a pool. However, the service at the restaurant is not very good. This was not our first visit and we knew that it could take a lot of time, as it is often chaotic. When the restaurant is fully booked, the service is worse.

Today, on a Sunday afternoon, the restaurant service was absolutely unacceptable. Even after requesting 3 different waiters to take our order, we were ignored and left waiting for 40 minutes! We left without ordering. When we brought up our concerns to the manager, we were met with a half-hearted "Oh sorry" apology. This is not the kind of service we expect and left with a very disappointing experience.

Therefore, if you plan to visit this restaurant, try to avoid busy hours, make sure you bring plenty of time, and do not go when you are very hungry, as it can take a long time...

Disappointing Service and Lack of Attention

We’ve dined here before and had a much better experience, but this recent visit was a letdown. Our waitress seemed to prioritize serving foreign tourists, which left us feeling overlooked. Our order was delayed significantly, and it was frustrating not to be able to find her when we needed assistance. It’s disappointing to see the quality of service decline, especially as we know the restaurant is capable of much better. We hope this was just an off night, and that they’ll work on providing a more consistent experience...

Food is actually oké if you finally can place an order and have a lot of patience. Both at the swimming pool, the main restaurant and the tables further away from the main restaurant the only reliable way to ensure you can order is walk to a waiter and keep reminding them you want to order and later to tell them you ordered.
