Karavan Coffee — Restaurant in Addis Ababa

As we are in Gena fasting period, many of Ethiopian have decided to fast. We prefer not to consume some particular foods including the traditional pizza, which contains ham and different varieties of meat and cheese.

Here is a fasting version of the traditional pizza which found in Karavan coffee. This cafe serves different delicious foods and drinks with good hospitality and service. Ingredients

450gr flour

1 yeast sachet

Tomato sauce

Greek virgin olive oil

1tsp sea salt .boild Brooklyn

Instructions

Start by heating some water. Put the yeast into water, until it is dissolved

Add some flour and mix for a while. Let it rest for almost 10 minutes

In a large bowl, add some flour and some sea salt. Afterwards pour them into the yeast mixture. Mix until, all ingredients are combined

Cover with a towel and let the dough rise

Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough in very thin sheets

Spread some Greek virgin olive oil in a baking tray

Cover the sheets of the dough with tomato sauce and add the ingredients you prefer

Bake the pizza at 200C for almost 20...

Karavan Coffee is located in the Medhane Alem Building, in front of Edna Mall (Bole area) in Addis Ababa.

The café has both indoor seating and terrace/outdoor options, making it suitable for relaxed meetups, casual coffee breaks or even light meals.

It opens early around 7:30 AM and stays open until approximately 8:00 PM (some sources say 8:30 PM) each day.

Prime location but worst customer service and poor quality cake. We didn't feel welcome by the staff as they were busy chatting and laughing. The place was quiet but the waitress took her time to bring the menu. 15 minutes later she still didn't bring our soda water and I had to ask. Again I had to call her again to bring us glasses. She blamed another waitress who was courteous and new instead of apologising and fixing the issue. The milifoni cake was extremely dry. I asked if they can swap it or change it.
