Wanted to visit this place in Tórshavn, walked past a few days but it's always closed. Was difficult to visit as the day tours ended late and was closed by the time I was back in Tórshavn. Finally had a day where I had no tours so managed to visit this place at 6pm for early dinner. There was a queue when I arrived but it was just a queue for ordering of food. There were still quite a lot of seats both indoors and outdoors. Took a while to decide on what to have. The open sandwiches looked interesting and finally decided on the fish. There weren't many options left but the ones on display looked good. Also ordered a lemonade and also saw an interesting item like a dessert and asked the staff and was told it was a lime icebox cake. Was curious how it tasted like and ordered it as well. Didn't take long for the food to be served after ordering. Everything came at one go and looked like I ordered too much for one person. First had the fish open sandwich. The fillet was pretty big and there had a small piece of bread at the base. It was a piece of haddock and had quite a bit of dried shredded fish and fried little chips at the top. The initial taste of the shredded fish might be a little weird at first, and the colour might be a little turn off as there's a little mouldy colour on it, but overall there wasn't much taste after eating together with the fish. Was hoping the fish to be fried and hot so it would taste crispy but that's the way it was meant to be cold so I enjoyed it the cold way and it was pretty decent too. Beware the portion is quite big so 1 sandwich is also good enough to share. The lemonade was not bad also, sour and quite fizzy managed to perk me up after the meal and not feel sleepy. The lime cake in the container was something I was looking forward to but it somehow wasn't what I expected. Not to say its not nice but the cake was okay overall, with quite a bit of cream. The lime taste was quite mild and I thought it would be sour but it wasn't. That was the slight disappointment I had. Overall the meal was good and I thought the price was quite reasonable as well. Would recommend this place and also not to visit too late in the evenings as there won't be much options left on the sandwiches.

Lovely modern lunch place in the middle of Tórshavn city center. The sandwiches here is very nice and the price are reasonable. Portions are maybe a littlebit on the smaller side? We tried a couple of them, fermented fish, chicken, potato and pork. All of them are recommended, and you get free tap-water with your meal. I'm only giving 4 stars because unfortunately the cappuccino here is pure garbage... And for 42 DKK, don't even bother.... But all in all, a good lunch experience 😊

We, an international couple, celebrated our wedding in Tórshavn. At Bitin we gathered our guests before walking together to the town hall. We ordered a selection of sandwiches up front (estimating 2 per person) and drinks to be ordered on the spot. We had the full upstairs area with the sunny terrace. Everybody loved the sandwiches and the setting. I wouldn't have changed a thing - except for eat a second sandwich, but I was too excited to eat on the day ☺️

I tryed it 2 times, first time i ordered some cake and bread to take home, then I payed, and wayted for 45 minutes by the counter to get my order, I was on my lunch break, and I could not leave, because they already took my money. When I finaly got my order, I sayd no thanks, got my money back and left without any food. Second time I tryed it, I was the onely person in the restaurant, I wanted to order some food. After standing at the counter for 10 minutes, a man came and told me, he would help me soon, 7 minutes later, a woman came, and told me, the man would be helping me soon., and 20 minutes after that, I went home, without any food, no one had serviced me. I can not recomend this restaurant, there...

Had to reorded twice waited 15 minutes for drinks and then 25 minutes for frozen raw shrimp in a bowl.... this will literally haunt me for the rest of my life worst experience ever, hope the chef that used his dorty hands to take out shrimp from a box and stuff them into a bowl infront of me gets fired on the spot. Management is nonexistent organization is chaos. We did get a refund tho but the sight of frozen raw unseasoned shrimp thst are about to go to the waste bin will never leave me... we cracked one open "in case it was some local delicacy and such" but it was just dirty cold unwashed and...
