While there are other larger Mylnan supermarkets in Tórshavn, this one is in an excellent location right in the center of the city.
They don't have a huge selection of stuff, but we found everything we needed to make sandwiches and quick dishes during our stay. We were also happy to find some Faroese cheese and Faroese cold cuts (cured meat from sheep), which we didn't find in other supermarkets.
However, for us the best part about this supermarket was the bakery section where we bought many delicious bread rolls with different seeds, as well as several local pastries (don't call them danishes). My favorite was the chocolate- covered cinnamon roll. So good!

Read moreI usually stop by Mylnan shop to wait a little while for my bus, and I also make purchases there each time. However, on Thursday, September 11, I was asked to leave by a staff member, who told me that if I was waiting I should go to the library instead, as the shop was only for customers. This was disappointing because I am a paying customer, not just once but whenever I visit while waiting for the bus. Being treated this way felt unfair and unwelcoming, and I hope the shop can show more respect to regular customers...
