I don't know if this rating should go to them or the operators. I know that this website is just like a portal for tourists to look for tours and book them, and the tours are actually forwarded to the local operators to bring the tourists around. Had a few experience with the online chat can be quite responsive at times but sometimes the conversation will just end abruptly. The tours are in general okay and well organized but the thing lacking I felt was the communications. They don't confirm the pickup location in advance and only tried calling during the pickup time. Would be better if they could contact and confirm a day in advance via WhatsApp or email, as I have experienced myself they didn't pick me up at the location specified (an Airbnb address) and asked me to meet at a hotel entrance instead. Enjoyed the tours, booked 4 tours in total but ended up only went 3 and the last one got cancelled. I booked the last tour because I realized a week before it would be a public holiday and using public transport might be a pain so I picked a tour available on that day and even it got cancelled. Was told not enough participants and there might not be a ferry service but ended up I did a free and easy myself to the same place via buses and ferry. Wished they could also inform beforehand earlier next time to prevent people from flustering and last minute planning. Nevertheless hope tourists visiting them can make use of this site and book tours because they seem to have the most reasonable prices around across different sites.
I don't like it that the operator tried to bombard me with calls, messages and emails after posting this review. I have already stated my personal experience in the review and I hope you can see the feedback and enhance and improve for the better of other tourists. There is no perfect service so take this as a feedback and see what you can work on. I don't believe its a bad review trying to smear you its just that everything has...
Read moreI had an absolutely incredible time in the Faroe Islands with Guide to Faroe Islands! I did the 7-day tour and every day was better than the last. The islands are truly stunning, breathtaking, and serene. Every day was a new and exciting adventure, with a nice mix of relaxed, driving, exploring days and more active hiking days.
I initially wanted to rent a car and drive around on my own but then decided against it. And I'm so glad I did. Having a local guide made the trip even more special. I don't think I would have made it to half the places if I had been on my own. The more remote locations only a local would know about ended up being some of my favorites.
Sveinur was a fantastic guide! He made sure we got to do and see everything we wanted to, and he went out of his way to make it a special experience for us. I really appreciated that he checked the weather for the next day and made adjustments to the itinerary to make sure we had the best experience on each island. He was also extremely funny and knowledgeable. We learned so much about the history and culture of the Faroes during our trip.
Hogni, the owner, was very responsive whenever I had questions before and during my trip. The website had a lot of information for me to compare tour options, and it was very quick and easy to book my tour.
I had an unforgettable trip and left with memories to last a lifetime. I hope to come back one day soon to explore more. I highly recommend a visit to the Faroe Islands and I definitely recommend Guide to Faroe Islands if you want a...
Read moreWhat an outstanding travel & tourism company on the Faroe Islands. Hogni’s website is comprehensive and covers every activity you could wish to explore and do there. Our ship, Silver Moon, was only docked at Torshavn for 1 day, but our Guide, Helle, managed to fit in so much, on 3 different islands, yet we never felt hurried. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and an excellent guide. She showed us a captivating and compelling Faroe Islands adventure.
The Faroe Islands are still one of the ‘last outposts’ not overcrowded by tourists. Go while you can!
The indescribable physical beauty of the islands, with a new landscape around every bend in the road, beautiful old villages with roofs topped with grass, endless mini waterfalls on all hillsides, in addition to some bigger and more spectacular waterfalls. Bright green grass, rugged steep hills and mountains. A remote and hostile landscape.
Technology meets nature with the subsea tunnels and regular road tunnels connecting the islands. Sustainable living has been the way to go for decades. We all have a great deal to learn from the Faroese.
We enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch at a stone table and seats overlooking the picture postcard village of Bour, with grass topped roofs and many still painted black, although tar is no longer needed for insulation.
The weather was constantly changing - 4 seasons in a hour - but this added to the rugged charm of the Faroes.
It was an exhilarating and...
