Frequent user and it's usually fine. Went there this evening. The hall was too cold and the movie was flickering every time there were sunny scenes or gunshot flashes. The soda was lacking taste and last time I went there, it was lacking bubbles. The nice things in this cinema used to be the audio and video quality, but the video quality didn't live up to what it used to be.
If you are eating pop corn or mixed candies, bring your own hand sanitizer since you will have to touch the door handles if you are going in late or have to use the toilet in the middle of the film. You'll also be touching the armrest, so try to be safe.
When all is said and done, I'm looking forward to the changes that are coming to the cinema. I hope the seating will be less cramped and that the snacks department will have a noticeable upgrade. The new owners advertised the changes in the radio just this other day, so it's not like they don't know that there are things which need to improve. Hoping that this feedback reaches the new owners.
Edit one year later: Things have changed for the worse. The ticket price went up by 50%, there is really no value for the money now. There was a hole in my seat. The seats are as cramped as ever. Went to Avatar 2 and a big person was next to me, hugging the armrest and a part of my seat so I (and probably they as well) had to sit uncomfortably for three hours. The snacks area is really bad now, worse than ever. The popcorn are cold and self-service. The soda is self-service and it's not very cold and has a weird taste far away from the brands shown on the machine. Lack of lids. Unwrapped straws that are extremely unhygienic. The cinema deserves to be shut down by Heilsufrøðiliga Starvsstovan until the food hygiene is...
Read moreWe saw two movies this weekend at the Havnar Bio. The first one was in their smaller theater. The seats are narrow and falling apart (in the picture you can see them fraying and the chair slumped forward) and the theater needs better air circulation (it got quite warm in there). The second one was in their bigger room and they had just replaced the seats with much nicer ones (not the reclining seats I was used to in the States, but still much nicer than what was there before). Hopefully they will be replacing the seats in the smaller theater soon as well.
The snacks were fine with a self serve soda fountain and the popcorn...
Read moreIt's alright. A little disappointing by international standards.
The rows are too close, so if someone tall sits infront of you, you won't be seeing much.
The ticket room also contains the snack booth, and the bathroom, so it gets very crowded, and very frequently do I get asked what queue goes where.
The screen and audio...
