In terms of club quality, Kaiku comes out on top of Helsinki's techno scene. Consistently solid programs, good enough sound system, friendly staffs, clean toilets, plenty of places to hang out. The problem is usually the crowd. Helsinki is a small place to be selective of guests, and what happens when anyone can just get in: people talking and yelling on the dancefloor, cranky guests who seem to know beer price better than who's playing tonight, Tiktok ravers who can't stop taking video. The situation was made even more fatal by the fact that I had to get to Tallinn that day, because my trip continued from there.

We had valid covid vaccination card from outside EU, that had all the information about our vaccination, supported by official government stamp, but we were not let in because iur vaccination wasn’t from Finland. The bouncer was extremely rude and derogatory towards us. Basically, as we were explained to, they don’t let people from outside EU in this club and on top of that they make you feel awful about it. During the conversation I understood that I didn’t even want to go in the club, where they treat the visitor in this way. Good job for creating safe and welcoming space...
