Siltanen has usually some cool DJ playing awesome funk, groove, disco, italo disco or similar kinda retro and funky music 👌👌👌 music quality is good too. Ok minus is that if you come there late expect a queue and the place is kinda crowded, but i think it just tells that siltanen is popular. People who go there are around 22-35, I've never seen squads of under 20's there, but sometimes some older guys show up there too. They serve probably only beverages in the evenings and they are not overpriced. Beer is Aura, which is ok. Queue to desk is not huge, but the indoors area is usually a bit chaotic so stick to your rights if u want service. They serve some food apparently during day but I've been there only in the evenings. Please keep in mind too that they close around 2 am. Luckily the same building has Post bar and Kuudes linja, where party is still going. In summer there is a huge terrace, where they play music usually till 11 pm. From the terrace you can also go to some other dance floors, where they play different kinda music (not that good usually imo) For me this 2 pm is fine cuz I've probably been dancing a lot there and need some...
Read moreVery overrated. The guy who was serving the cloakroom was incredibly rude and downright mean to me. He did not acknowledge anyone at all, just took my bag and asked for the money. Okay, whatever. Not a big deal, I get that there is a lot of people etc. But then when I come back and ask if I can grab my smokes from my bag he seems extremely annoyed and then tries to overcharge me (the fact that there even is a charge for an extra visit is pretty lame) I mention that the price he said doesn't match the one on the poster they had up. He says ok and changes it. To top it all of when I leave I put the backpack on I notice there's CHEWING GUM on one of the straps. But I notice it too late and my velvet shirt I had on is basically ruined. I wouldn't be surprised if someone put it there intentionally, since this was the first place I visited the night.... The only good thing was the music. Drinks were...
Read moreOne of the more expensive places to go out, but one of my favorites in Helsinki. And considering how many people go there even on a Sunday evening, says it all ;) The cocktails are OK, and for the vodka red bull I recommend specifying to the bar tender which type of vodka U want. The crowd is fun and seems to enjoy dancing to soft electronic music. When I was there in July & August the lovely outdoor terrace was open, which has a really nice vibe. Inside there are 3 areas. One chillout and 2 with music. Security guys seemed very friendly and professional. Only drawback: be ready for quite some queueing. It will be backed.
Bonus: once it closes there's the Kaiku club around the corner, in the same building. Or a food truck in front of the entrance in case you already...
