Lemon Grass — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

One of my all-time favourite thai restaurants. It's quite packed during lunchtime but I still strongly recommend to visit here.

In case you don't fancy lunchtime dining at this venue it's quite pleasant in the evening too. Prices aren't too bad but I still hoped just a tad better price to quality for vegetarian options. Don't get me wrong here those veggie portions are great but I happen to know even better price to quality along this very same road. Lemon grass quality has gone a tad down over the years and some newcomers have had even better quality and quantity with similar price or even cheaper.

For beginners this venue would be my recommendation if you want to dive into the wonderful food of Thailand and don't want to spend too much time looking for places to eat.

This place is rather small but it has really nice atmosphere even for a tad fancier pants. Location of this venue is superb and it's accessible with various transportation methods - public transportation in mind.

We used to order everyweek because the food was pretty good. After Coronavirus time, the portion of the take away food was the half of before. Once in the restaurant, they offered a ridiculous portion of rice for the curry for two persons, so we ordered more ( it was for free some time ago). They wanted to charge us for money for it. Then, we wanted to bring the leftovers to home, and they wanted to charge us more money for the boxes (they do not charge you then when you order to take away). It is unfair because we did not want to waste the food. Today we ordered to take away after some time. We called and repeated the order many times, in English and even in Finnish. They missunderstood the order (wrote a different number but we did not say the number, just the name of the ingredients). The best Thai starter soup we have ever had travelling anywhere, with julienned fresh ginger, lemon grass, celery, mushrooms, and more- very refreshing, warming, and savory. Two of us then ate chicken curry, and the others ate chicken fried rice, and we devoured all of it. Delicious. Unlimited hot water for hot tea, fresh fruit, and cookies for dessert.
