When paying at the end of the meal, the owner asked me out of the blue if I was a vegan, upon saying that I eat fish she continued to lecture me on this subject that fish feel pain, which lasted a good 3 minutes. Though meant kindly I'm sure, I do not believe that it should be an issue if a customer eats fish, and lecturing a customer about this is very unprofessional. I might have taken this to offense as I was also sat with a group of friends and we were all quite embarrassed. I really wanted to like this place,as it used to be quite good in the past,but...during my last visit the food was cold,and not very tasty. Ok it was close to the end of the lunch buffet but we were still charged full price for what felt like left overs. Cheapest kind of noodles. Spring rolls. Mashed potatos. That was about it. I enjoyed the food. There is no mention of it, but the buffet doesn't exist anymore. Individual dishes are good though. No one has realised but Loving Hut is a franchise/outreach programme from Ching Hai, hence the sort of inculcation vibe. The owner/devotee seems to have developed a cynical/judgemental attitude towards others, maybe.. which is a bit unfortunate, because it sort of impacts the feeling you have when you're eating there.
