When paying at the end of the meal, the owner asked me out of the blue if I was a vegan, upon saying that I eat fish she continued to lecture me on this subject that fish feel pain, which lasted a good 3 minutes. Though meant kindly I'm sure, I do not believe that it should be an issue if a customer eats fish, and lecturing a customer about this is very unprofessional. No one has realised but Loving Hut is a franchise/outreach programme from Ching Hai, hence the sort of inculcation vibe. The owner/devotee seems to have developed a cynical/judgemental attitude towards others, maybe.. which is a bit unfortunate, because it sort of impacts the feeling you have when you're eating there.
