It’s not big but a lovely place in the summer. I enjoy the most the inside - the smells in the winter and the bench to sit down and relax / read on are very peaceful and relaxing and lovely. The cafe staff wasn’t the nicest last time I was there so there is only 4 stars. The staff in the Botanical Garden should be heavily oriented pro customer and pro visitors. They should be a priority- the customer comes first culture is as important as the manners and a fluent English language. Which is especially matters because it is a top tourist spot. Bad attitude should not be allowed for staff, honestly- this place is like a business card for the entire Finnish society and Finland.
After visiting the cafe, I had the impression that Finns are rude and unfriendly people who don’t care for the customers needs or aren’t even bothering to be kind and polite to foreigners. Gave the bad aftertaste and it wouldn’t happen if it was more international and...
Read moreA delightful botanical gem that's particularly splendid on sunny days. The garden offers vibrant blooms and charming hidden corners that reward exploration, all whilst being conveniently accessible for visitors.
Photography enthusiasts will find endless opportunities amongst the colourful displays—do bring extra memory cards! For extended visits, sun cream and water are advisable, as the garden's beauty tends to encourage longer stays than initially planned.
Families planning to visit with young children may wish to keep a close eye on them, as little ones can be tempted to wander off paths or step on the flowers. A bit of extra supervision can help protect the area and ensure everyone enjoys their time.
A thoroughly pleasant destination that offers both tranquil moments and delightful discoveries. Highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful escape into...
Read moreLovely botanic garden! It was bigger than I expected. It isn't the biggest botanic garden in the world (far from it), but the species they have, and how they've presented them, are beautiful and interesting - and there wasn't a single dull moment.
My only complaint would be that once you've gone through the entire collection, you have to walk the same way back (down narrow paths with a lot of people walking the opposite direction). This caused for some 'traffic' and I wished the process had been streamlined somehow.
We went there on a Friday where it was free entrance, so I can't comment much on value for money. I don't remember the price entrée, but I think I would have also paid and enjoyed it just as much, if we hadn't been able to get in for free.
Overall, would definitely pay this a visit again and recommend it to...
