A local Helsinki pub, (almost) everything was fine.. I have visited it many times and loved this place, although I do not like this 3€ fee to store your jacket but ok.. I really liked the gigs there..
2 stars because of the rude attitude I faced the last time I visited this place from the security guy you had on the top floor.. What happened? I had my backpack with me (like every time, I have my personal belongings and I don't want to leave it there) and I more than happy to let the security search it.. Every time it was fine to keep my backpack.. But this time the security guy at the top floor didn't let me pass.. I was trying to explain but the only words he was saying "no backpack no backpack no backpack" he wouldn't even let me explain to him that I had the permission to keep it with me.. I tried but he keep saying "no backpack no backpack".. And he was rude. I forced to go down to the entrance to tell the guys there and they said AGAIN it is ok to keep it with me.. And then I went up again and this guy was not even looking at me.. This was enough for me to make me not to visit this...
Read moreOne of the best European Irish Bar ever. I was in many Irish bars in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany but this irish bar is the best for me. For me, this is the gold standard of design for a proper bar. I had the banter with the barman to add some taytos to their snack collection. I got a few laughs from that. Also, the musician was good crack too. You could move the people of Finland to Ireland, and they would feel at home! Loved the place, the people and...
Read moreProbably the most authentic Irish Pub in Helsinki with live music. They also have a lovely terrace in the back. Too bad that at the time it was too cold to sit there (but that's finnish summer for you).
Came here to have a pint of Guinness as a "dessert" and was surprised by the extremely nice bar maid asking me if "I wanted a picture on it". I said sure and ended up with a randomly selected picture of the Dalai Lama wearing a flower wreath on it. It was so much fun, me and my friend had to order a second round. That time it was a panda and a lighthouse. I know it is a gimic, but like my friend said she would have never ordered a Guinness in the first place if it wasn't for the picture, so great job getting people hooked on Guinness! Will definitely come back just to show my...
