Bob W Helsinki City Centre — Hotel in Helsinki sub-region

Overall, my recent stay with Bob W was disappointing. I booked the 4-person penthouse room primarily for the use of the sauna on my last day of the trip.Firstly, pin code provided was only valid for door access to the stairs, not door to the elevator side at night. This became a significant inconvenience, especially for a female traveler like myself who arrived at night after a tiring flight. Having to carry a 20kg luggage and a 10kg carry-on up five flights of stairs was both physically demanding and frustrating. Clear arrangements on how to access the elevator at night should have been considered for guest.Secondly, check-in process was not clearly communicated, causing panic upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had to seek help from customer service on a third-party booking site and reach out via email to obtain a check-in link, which added unnecessary stress and confusion.Furthermore, instruction for turning on the sauna were unclear, and I was unable to enjoy it until the next morning at 8am, just few hours before my checkout time. I had specifically chosen the penthouse room with the sauna for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. due to the lack of clear instructions, and had to seek assistance to figure out how to operate it properly, which ate into the limited time I had available to enjoy the amenity.In conclusion, my stay with Bob W fell short of my expectations. The limited time to enjoy the amenities, issues during the check-in process and accessing the elevator, made for a less than satisfactory experience. Location, size and sauna all good. A few small issues / impracticalities e.g. one of the bedside lights not working, only one set of thin towels (there were more in the luggage room which we found thanks to the message system), no written instructions for heating, only one small bag of coffee (things that would be replenished if you stayed in hotel). Overall, I’d say the communication was disappointing. Before we checked in I was still awaiting a response to an email I’d sent 2 weeks earlier. The WhatsApp chat function seems fine if you have a basic question but the person (or bot??) is basically just reading off the FAQs. Anything slightly complex is deferred to the next day or just not answered. We had issues with heating and cooling. They said they’d send someone to our apartment to investigate, which they did, but didn’t give us any notice of this which I thought was strange. This person then stated we’d left a window open which was not true. The window was unlatched but this must have been from the previous occupants. Ultimately the temperature issue was never sorted - the aircon unit did not work which was a shame as we would have liked the fan for ventilation. The radiators only came on briefly in the lounge and never came on in the bedrooms so it was cold. Eventually, after countless messages we were informed that the heating is controlled by the city. Why not just provide this info from the start? It feels like Bob W. markets itself as a hip hotel alternative but honestly, I’d rather have staff on hand to address issues as they braise rather than relying on WhatsApp. We won’t be staying...

Voy a escribir la reseña que me hubiese gustado leer antes de visitar el Bob.||Es un apartamento perfectamente equipado donde no echarás en falta absolutamente nada.|Cama cómoda, sofá-cama cómodo ( si, de verdad!), tele enorme, acceso a plataformas tipo netflix, lavadora-secadora que funciona perfectamente, cocina totalmente equipada, todos los útiles que puedas necesitar: bolsas de basura, detergente, pastillas de lavavajillas, gel, champú, cubiertos y útiles de cocina nuevos y totalmente limpios.|Es algo que hay que destacar del apartamento: estaba impoluto. ||Está a unos minutos de la estación del tren, pero el último día descubrimos que hay una red de calles subterráneas que conectan toda la ciudad, las entradas de metro, estaciones...|Sales del hotel y entras a la parada de metro que hay justo en el portal, bajas un piso y caminas 5 minutos... Tachan! Sales en la estación de tren. Super cómodo para ir con las maletas ya que las aceras tienen adoquiles.||En serio, mirad la red de calles bajo tierra porque hay montón de tiendas, sitios para comer, supermercados y si llueve o hace frío está genial.||Cuando leí los comentarios parecía un poco complicado hacer el check-in. Para nada.||Una vez haces la reserva te llega un email unos días antes de tu viaje. Rellenas un formulario con los datos que te piden y te mandan un email con el código de acceso para la puerta del portal y de tu habitación. En ese mismo email te explica cómo coger el desayuno y cualquier cosa que necesites.||En el portal metes el código que te den y se abren 2 puertas: derecha subes por las escaleras 5 pisos. izquierda subes en ascensor al quinto piso. Metes el mismo código en tu habitación y ya está. No hay ninguna complicación.|En el sótano hay para tirar las basuras, se recicla todo.||EL DESAYUNO.|Para mi lo peor del Bob, pero es que lo demás estuvo muy bien.|Justo enfrente del portal hay un local que se llama FAZER y la opción que te dan es||Café grande o Té + croissant relleno o bocadillo + zumo o batido de fruta. Las 3 cosas||En la acera de enfrente caminando 4 minutos está el expresso café. Alli el café es más pequeño y te dan un baggel o un bocadillo.||Como en el apartamento hay todo lo necesario para hacerte un buen desayuno (tostadora, cafetera, microondas...) puedes usar eso de almuerzo.||El apartamento tiene un supermercado K justo enfrente, un lidl a unos minutos... Puedes comprar todo lo q necesites, teniendo en cuenta que comparado con España el supermercado tiene menos calidad. ||En la mismo puerta tienes parada de tranvía, que si vas a pillar el ferry para Tallin como era nuestro caso ha sido facilísimo. Salir, subirte al tranvía y bajarte en la puerta de la terminal 2.||Los billetes del trasporte público se compran el la app y no se validan, tienen un tiempo de duración.|Debido a la situación tan céntrica del Bob no necesitarás apenas transporte público. Nosotros solo lo usamos para ir en barco a la fortaleza, llegar desde el aeropuerto y llegar al ferry.||Si vas con niños pequeños, con silla de paseo, hay zonas un poco más incómodas pero en general se puede ir por toda la ciudad sin problema. De hecho, hicimos un free tour con Guru y bien.|Hay muchisimas zonas verdes, parques son arena y juguetes ... Se lo pasarán en grande.||Aunque den altas temperaturas es necesario abrigo y pañuelo. Al menos a nosotros (junio y 20 grados) nos hizo falta por el aire frio.||Como no hay recepción, Bob te atiende por WhatsApp para cualquier duda. De hecho nos preguntó varias veces si estaba todo bien o necesitabamos algo. ||El hotel es muy silencioso, parecía q estabamos solos.||Leí que tenía lo bueno de un hotel y lo bueno de un apartamento a la vez y es cierto. ||Céntrico, cómodo, silencioso, limpio...||Sin duda, volveremos si algún día...
