At the heart of Kallio there's jewel â small pub which has a friendly service and atmosphere. It's impossible to see from outside how amazingly well this place truly is.
Come inside to stay awhile and enjoy this piece of old time capsule where time has stood still from the 1960s. This establishment is really small. There's only couple seats available but customers will make room for newcomers. This is a regular pub with regular customers paired with amazing milieu and atmosphere that truly shine among other pubs in Helsinki.
It's really hard to describe how this pub is influenced me personally so lets just say that when you know bartender by name and have visiting here more than a decade it's just like a second home when you enter here. However my visits have gone rarer nowadays because my old friend and a bartender of this establishment past away in December of 2015. This place hasn't been the same for me personally. Sirdie isnât just a pub â itâs a small sanctuary of beer, conversation, and everyday magic. Located in Kallio, a neighborhood thatâs easy to reach and close to the city center, this cozy little place is full of soul and old-school charm. And yes, for cinema lovers â parts of Calamari Union by KaurismĂ€ki were filmed right here. Thereâs even a photo of Matti PellonpÀÀ pinned near the bar, quietly watching over us all like a guardian spirit of Helsinkiâs most authentic corners.
The atmosphere is effortlessly warm, informal, and genuinely welcoming. You might find yourself chatting with someone youâve never met, as if you were old friends catching up. Thatâs exactly how a pub should feel: a place where it doesnât matter who you are, as long as youâve got a story to share or an ear to lend.
The beer? Served at just the right temperature, and a bit cheaper than elsewhere. No gimmicks, just perfectly poured simplicity.
Sirdie may be small, but it holds more stories than some castles. Just watch your step â I left a piece of my heart somewhere near the bar stools.
Itâll be the first place I go back to on my next visit to Helsinki. No...
