Sokeri-Jussin Kievari — Restaurant in Oulu sub-region

We are group of 8, me and my Finnish wife and 6 of my other Vietnamese friends. We back from Rovaniemi and call to book the table before. When we were there, the waitress didnt start to say hello to us first but we did it first and she just respone back. After we got a table, she speak finnish to my wife and didnt talk to us in english, until we said we didnt speak finnish well enough. She did serve us very slow service, slower the other group who came after us. During the dinner, she was not really nice to us and her attitude show on her face that made we feel that we are not welcome. After we finish i ask her to have bills for us separate, then she showed her attitude again to us by gave us the bill and put it on a table with angry face. After we paid, when we left, she didnt start to say thank you and goodbye us, just respone to us after we said thank you to them. So all in all, good food but very racist, unfriendly staff which destroyed our mood of the night, while we were waiting for a good fine-dining restaurant like this. So bad, i wont suggest and...

Had a really poor experience but food was good. 1) it was extremely cold INSIDE the restaurant (thermometer app on phone said 12-15 °C) and we were freezing. Maybe the heating was broken.. Would be nice to mention this when reserving so people would dress warmly. 2) the staff was rude and the service was poor except for the waitress who finally took our orders and waited us through the dinner. A couple of waitresses before that were really rude and we had to wait 30 minutes to be served a celebratory drink. The poor service was evident from the moment we came inside as nobody greeted and the reception was poor when we asked to be seated. 3) this was a really special ocation of mom's 60 birthday and we requested a separate quiet room but we did not get that and were seated on a bit of a busy place. They completely ignored our special wishes and ruined the party. Can not recommend based on this poor experience and service, even though the food was good. Went for Valentine’s Day.. LOVED IT! Very authentic Finnish aesthetic inside and out of the building.

They serve Rössypottu.. which is native to this area in Finland, so if you’re not a local, be sure to try it!

Service was great! Waiter spoke Finnish and English. The food was AMAZING. BEST reindeer I’ve had in all of Finland! The Lingonberry wine was a nice pairing as well.
