The Cheezburg Factory — Restaurant in Oulu sub-region

IMO, it is generally difficult to stand out in the realm of hamburgers, but this place surprised me with its out-of-the-box superhero/comic/geekdom theme 🦸‍♂️🦹‍♀️ and its delicious, slightly garlicy hamburger sauce made in house.

The menu is mostly what you might expect from a hamburger & coffee joint, but the portion sizes and make up seem slightly healthier than the preselect-112-I-might-have-a-heart-attack-after-this supersized items one might expect. 😁

The staff is nice and kindly asked for feedback, which introduced a nice bit of customer engagement to the development of this establishment. 😊

In terms of atmosphere, the café side of things seemed to still be in development at the time of writing this review, but I've high hopes for this due to the general nerdy-styling for the place - definitely the first comic book themed restaurant-café I've come across in Finland!

Pleasant surprise! I was greeted by a friendly waitress on quiet hour and she explained the concept with excellent english. I tend to like my food with extra spiciness, so I ordered Fiery Burger. I was warned that it might be a bit more spicy (spiciness shown as 2/3 on menu) than people usually expect. Burger came, and it was... Excellent!

Simple ingredients with bit more spicy mayo than I was expecting(!), and with tasty and tender beef. Spiciness hit just the right spot for me! Waitress spent a good time chatting and was taking my feedback so that they can continue to improve dishes. I'd love to see this same spicy burger with some fresh citrus pickled salad or such to compensate otherwise well made mayo.

I've lived in Oulu for over 15-years and this is the first time I feel obliged to make a review, this place is that good. I'm solely writing this based on my experience on food as I have yet to visit the place, I order my lunch from here quite often and I have never been disappointed - but in fact surprised how good it has always been. The burgers themselves are full of flavor and texture, I'm never left thinking that something could've been better. My absolute favorite is the fiery cheese burger, it's not unbearably hot but certainly noteworthy so no need to worry.

They also do some magic with fries since they're the only place in town that manage to get them delivered crispy and hot. With fries I'd recommend their own dip, garlic is also excellent.
