During my search for a new niche Indian food hub in Turku, I've stumbled across this restaurant and was left with a poor experience and a bad impression.
The food is decent at most, especially in comparison to plenty of other restaurants in Turku, but the biggest issue was the service from the restaurant staff.
The restaurant served me and my spouse a dish we haven't ordered, but when we pointed out their mistake for them, the waiter and even the cook insisted that we received the correct dish and had the dish confused with another one. Even the descriptions of the two different dishes in their own menu proved me right, but instead of trying to make an effort to understand that and make amends, the staff accused us of being wrong and made a variety of shifting excuses.
Eventually, the restaurant tried to make it up for us, but it was a very long and unnecessary process that replaced a good dining experience with a negative one.
Not only do I not recommend the food, but I will mostly not be coming back to a place that employs workers who can't admit their mistakes and prefer to put customers in an awkward spot, rather than swallow their pride and prioritize a high quality...
Read moreTucked into a quiet courtyard, this place does not shout for attention. It earns it. I visit once a year and every time I walk in I notice the little things first, like the flowers outside that are clearly cared for by someone with patience. That same care shows up on the plate.
The cooking leans Nepalese and it has a gentle way of surprising you. The bread arrives warm and fragrant, the kind you tear with your hands before you realize you are smiling. Curries carry layers that unfold slowly rather than loudly. By the time dessert lands, you feel like you have been walked through a map of flavors instead of a menu.
Service matches the kitchen in sincerity. No performance, just people who notice what you need before you have to ask. It is a small treasure hidden in plain sight, and somehow it keeps getting better without trying...
Read moreFood was quite good, today i had an incident that, after eating my food i was leaving and i am almost near the road. The waiter/cashier chase me and saying i didn’t pay the bill, i just opened my bank and show her that -36.80 paid from bank, still she took me counter and after checking she was just saying may be It's our mistake! What kind of behaviour is this, why you didn’t check before chasing me? And what you meant by may be? I instantly said you should say its my mistake( not may be). Because this is so disrespecting that You're saying i am leaving without paying while others people were looking at me, i felt so disrespectful and decided not to go there anymore who doesn’t know the manner!
I used to go there almost every week, but this is my last...
