Sooooo disappointing compared to last year. We were so excited to come back here only to be let down. Obviously they’ve made their name so don’t care anymore. Glasses on the table had water marks on them, my companion ordered a glass of wine as an aperitif , the glass had someone else’s lipstick on it. When pointed out to a member of staff, they weren’t bothered. Even the glasses on the table “oh it’s when we dry them “. An establishment like this they should have been polished before going on the table.
The Specials menu, same as last year. Soft shell crab tempura, not tempura but deep fried in the batter you would do fish and chips in... When the waitress asked how it was and we told her there was no concern or apology.
Bread, salt and pepper removed with starters despite us still eating the bread.
Main course served luke warm. The beef was very average.
Young female waitress very rude and owner not concerned by anything other than drinking Pimms with his friends. Oh and a child of around 5/6 years of age served us our water...
Never again. So...
Read moreVery good service by attentive staff and a good selection of food on the menu. Big wine list and a daily specials option. The interior is very chic and cosy. However hugely overpriced considering what we choose. I appreciate where we are but essentially Fondue is melted cheese and bread. We had a seafood platter we shared and a Fondue for three, followed by two desserts. One bottle of wine 2015 Riesling a small beer and two cokes = 228 euros! I will always make comparisons to places I have previously eaten and judge a place on value for money and quality. I have been fortunate in a previous employed role to attend Michelin starred venues in London and other high end establishments for trial openings. What would I have been able to experience for this amount of money in London well I know what it would have been. To put this venue into context most restaurants in this resort are massively overpriced. I have travelled extensively around France and paid FAR less for equally tasty high...
Read moreFor the price (it is not cheap) the value for money was definitely missing. The place was packed by 7.45pm and there were not enough team members to deliver service, therefore you spend most of the time trying to attract someones attention. Starters arrived in 5 min (always a bit worrying), and were ok (Lobster rolls and Foie Gra), mains a little longer. Unfortunately, the fillets were so rare that we left about 30% (we asked for medium), did try to get someones attention but gave up. Probably a good place for a drink but not to spend £300 on two...
