While this place started as a local favorite with a bright new Chef coming up in the world of cuisine, it's degraded rapidly into a factory trying to maximize profit from every patron.
The food quality has decreased, they charge for reservations, and if you show up with kids the staff lose her minds and almost refuses to create plates trying to force you to pay full price for an adult portion. God forbid you say you have 8 and show up with 7, they tried to charge us for the additional seat thinking they'd lose -one customers- worth of money for the day (the seat was quickly filled.)
This used to be one of my highly recommended spots in Annecy. Fantastic and unique plates, a friendly Chef, and reasonable prices. This has been radically replaced with a straight up rude manager, nickle and diming tactics, and a place that seems more capitalistic and money focused then even the highest volume tourist traps in town.
I've had better service at fast food restaurants. It's a real shame, because this place used to be a gem, but visitors need to know what their in for this this manager you'll be...
Read moreThis restaurant is as rude as anyone we have EVER experienced in France - or anywhere. We reserved a table for 7 PM but instead came for lunch that same day. After lunch we notified the restaurant that since we had come for lunch, we would like to cancel the dinner reservation later that day - this was at 1:30 PM. Right then and there, the owner said that we would be charged 70Euros for a no-show for dinner ANYWAY(!) that night! We politely tried to point out that we had just spent a nice bundle in their establishment for lunch instead of dinner, and we did not find it reasonable to be punished for it. Instead, the owner doubled down on insisting we would be charged for a no-show for dinner. Sure enough, 70 euros were charged on our card, and when we called the restaurant to remind them we HAD in fact canceled 6 hours earlier, their answer was "C'est pour le principe," claiming that our table would be sitting vacant for the night. WoW! No wonder our table might remain empty tonight if this is how they treat...
Read moreWe probably had too high expectations for this bistro. Being recommended by the Michelin guide in the gourmand section brings a big responsability, that's for sure. The atmosphere is a bit anonymous, although we have appreciated the music. Plates were well plated, tasted good but unfortunately not mind blowing as I was expecting. We were not expecting huge portions but not so tiny either. Service was slow. We ordered two glasses of wine to pair with the entree, we ate the entree but the glasses were still missing. What a pity. We had to remind the waiter that very fastly brought as the wine together with the main. Overall, considering the hype, our experience didn't meet our expectations. There is still room for...
