Had lunch for 8. 3 people ordered the beef tartare. 3 people became violently ill within 24 hours. Restaurant was adamant that their “meat was very fresh” (I would hope so if you’re serving it raw). Claimed they called the other people at the restaurant that ordered that dish and no one else was sick so it must have been our mistake. Problem was these eight people that went to the lunch didn’t eat any other meals together. I also looked it up and it’s possible to have one small piece of bacteria that can contaminate a single dish, or table in our case (as it was prepared at the table in one bowl). Manager of the restaurant was incredibly rude and condescending and didn’t offer to even refund the dish let alone the meal. Told me it would be “too difficult” to figure out how to do it.
This is such a disappointment given I had been to the restaurant years ago and was so taken by the view and location that I returned with a large group to share the experience with them, only to have half the party have a day of their vacation completely ruined. Mistakes happen and this could have been an opportunity to make lemons out of lemonade. Instead, it was a terrible experience, only amplified exponentially by how poorly the restaurant handled the incident. Avoid...
Read moreI would honestly never recommend this restaurant. My husband and I ordered the starter pasta with caviar and it should have been a warning sign, the pasta clung together in a big heap and was difficult to separate the noodles, and tasted how lemon soap smells. The table next to us even called the dish horrible. Next up was the sea bass that left me wondering if I had covid because there was zero taste and not really any texture to the dish. Sea bass is such a mild fish and needs a flavorful component. All of the salt that was lacking on the sea bass must have been put into the lamb confit dish, that came out looking like a Wendy’s cheeseburger. It was so salty that it was unpalatable and the texture was also a mix of mush, we couldn’t even eat it. The presentation was also slightly off putting. Somehow, even the parmesean truffle fries were very bland and had very little flavor. My husband and I still left hungry, and with an almost 200 euro bill. That being said, I would skip this restaurant.
I will mention however, the staff was friendly and it was chaotic due to a storm that was rolling in, so I know that they were trying their best to relocate all...
Read moreThe brunch here every Sunday at lunchtime (although it's really more of a lunchtime buffet), is the best in the area, perhaps even the best in France, and is sensational. You can drink as much first-class vintage champagne, Veuve Cliquot 2015, or wonderful rosé as you like. You eat unlimited lobster, oysters, foie gras, salmon and tuna sashimi, the array of delicacies, starters, and later main courses, and the perfectly grilled meats at the grill station - it's all endless. But when you take a look at the dessert station, you won't believe it! It is certainly one of the best pastry chefs in this country who is in charge here. For €150 you can eat with the whole family elsewhere, but here it's the price for one person. But considering what you get, it's practically a gift. Add to that the wonderful hotel; just being here is bliss. The fabulous view, everything is wonderful. But also worth mentioning is the impeccable staff, such lovely, warm, friendly, and perfect employees. You'll hardly find such excellent service anywhere else. Fantastic, everything is simply fantastic! Guests leave delighted and...
