Au Louis d’Or — Restaurant in Bayeux

We had been to quite a few crepe restaurants on our Bayeux visit, but had been waiting for this one due to its reviews. It did not disappoint. Better space and ambiance that most of the other restaurants and really, really excellent crepes. First of all the choices were extensive. Much lighter and a much more flavorful crepe itself. Both of our crepes were filled generously as was our dessert crepe. My wife also had a very nice glass of wine and I had a beer. Both cold and flavorful. This is one of those reviews in which I don’t have a lot to say because everything was well done. Great location, warm environment, perfect service and excellent food. Read the reviews, so my wife and I tried it out. Small, quaint restaurant with excellent crepes. We both tried the set menu for 12 euros each. It included crepe, drink, dessert and coffee or tea. I had the crepe canard- crepe with smoked duck. It was excellent and well worth it. I tried the lemon crepe for dessert, but should have opted for the house crepe like my wife had. I ordered a crepe here and I understood cheddar as a different cheese than American cheese, so I was disappointed when it contained the latter; however, the staff was very understanding and changed the cheese for me without wasting the previous crepe. With local Camembert, the crepe was delicious! My boyfriend enjoyed his crepe and we shared a chocolate and banana crepe for dessert too. All were beautifully presented and tasty!
