We were really excited to eat here because the reviews looked very positive. When we first entered, the gentleman who welcomed us in was so nice and we felt like we made a great decision. The bad part came with our waiter and his sarcasm. We were going to order two crepes and share them so that we could try two at the same time (as we couldn’t possibly eat four in total). Well, he immediately stopped us mid-sentence and said “you’re not allowed to share, this is a restaurant”. That’s one of the most rude and sarcastic responses I’ve ever received at a restaurant in my life, that’s not a way to talk to customers. We felt a hostile atmosphere and uncomfortable the rest of the meal, basically we felt like we weren’t welcomed and judged. To make matters worse, two men sat across from us and literally shared their crepes right in front of the waiters face without him saying a word. We ate here several years ago and we were excited to return on a visit to Bayonne again in July 2023. The waiter welcomed us but told us that sweet crepes could only be ordered as a takeaway. Our 3 very young kids of course wanted sweet crepes. Sitting at a table outside at 12noon opening time on Wednesday and restaurant almost empty, my wife and I ordered 2 savoury crepes and drinks and told the waiter the kids would takeaway sweet crepes after we finished. He was furious, told us we can’t take a table of 4 seats for only 2 crepes and bid us depart in a very rude and public way. We had no choice to get up and left very disappointed. We visited this crêperie in a very touristy part of town, right by the cathedral — the location is beautiful and there are plenty of outdoor tables.

Unfortunately, the crêpes were not wow. They were big, but the taste was quite bland. They arrived at our table suspiciously fast, which made us think they’d been pre-made.

The most surprising part? For such a big restaurant with so many tables, there was only one restroom. Expect a line, especially during busy hours.
