Coffee Muxu — Restaurant in Bayonne

Not the raving review we expected to give. Muxu is a cute place on a good spot in Bayonne. Maitre is very friendly and the wait for a table wasn’t long. However, food and service was not up to par with the prices they ask. The team seemed to be in over their heads. We had to wait a while before being able to order and the waitress was very curt. It took a while for the food to arrive too, no wonder bc very busy. The food was mediocre at best, small portions and the pancake with bacon was not good at all. After we finished (and left all the bacon) we seemed to have been forgotten and my partner had to go and find a waiter to order desert & coffee. When we arrived there, the restaurant was pretty busy. However the person serving us managed to get a table for my family and I. He was also very thoughtful to get us an English menu which made it lovely and welcoming for us to enjoy this cafe. We ordered a kids menu, brownie, 2 of their speciality brunch meals, flat white coffee and chai latte with oat milk. About 30% of what was stated at the menu could not be ordered because they didn’t have the ingredients anymore but we didn’t mind then. Young and friendly service team. The inside is light with modern furnishings. Very nice ambiance for eating and chatting. The seating on the outside is comfortable and places with shade are available. The restroom is clean! We had a marvelous ‘salade du jour’ for lunch which was light and at the same time gave us enough strength for the rest of the day: a bed of salad leafs with freshly roasted sweet potatoes, fig pieces, goat cheese crumbles and nuts.
