Pur Bar&Food — Restaurant in Bonneville

WAITER THREATENING TO FIGHT US!

Not recommended for neither people with allergens nor non French speaking since they pretend to not understand English.

It started of nicely in the bar, asking to get table to eat but telling the staff there’s no rush but we would prefer to not sit in the bar were everyone is running.

We’re seated at a table next to their fridges all the way in the back of the restaurant with cold non thick windows and asked nicely to change because of the cold. Got a bad attitude from the owner/host but they were agreeing on chancing our table which we were grateful for. We were more than willing to wait for a table to get free since we were not in a hurry and did not book anything.

When ordering the food, we asked to have a burger without tomato which was impossible for the waiter since it does say in their menus that no changes will be approved. ( THIS ONLY IN FRENCH ) Even if you are allergic you’re asked to change your food of choice or to just remove the product from your meal.

NOTE: that almost all the food includes tomatoes and this restaurant is not including all kinds of diets as they are advertising on the website. ( After reading multiple reviews with the same issues )

When asked why, waiter becomes disrespectful and starts saying that us as guests are difficult.

We tell them we are not ordering anything and we’re leaving instead.

When walking to the owner/host, explaining the issue we get an even worse attitude. Saying that we were difficult guests, that we just wanted move around and since we ”arrived there a has been a problem”.

The waiter in question, gets behind and starts pushing one of us, we asked him to stop and why he’s being aggressive. That’s when he starts telling us that at 22:00 he’s done at work and he can get out to fight with us. With the owner/host sitting there listening, doing nothing and not telling his staff off.

They are there threatening us as guests and wants to start fighting. Taking pictures of us threatening to find us in the streets.

We do not recommend this place, believe this or not, but I have never been more insulted and actually scared of being out at night after this interaction.

We should’ve read the reviews beforehand about the bad service they provide.

Another very good evening meal in Saint-Gervais, this time at Pur, in between Christmas 2022 and New Year. We made a reservation just before Christmas, just to be on the safe side and it was good that we did as it was almost full when we arrived and when we left two hours later the queue was 8 to 10 deep.

When we arrived the staff were very polite and friendly, and we were quickly shown to our table. The food was really good. We booked at Pur, in part, due to their boards promoting gluten free burgers 🍔. So we had one gluten free bacon burger, a gorgonzola burger, a bbq pizza and a bowl of raclette. Accompanied by a few beers, rose wine, large glass of lemonade and orange juice. Our food was all very good and arrived promptly.

The service from the staff was very good, they were all very friendly and polite. Pur has a really good atmosphere, there's a real buzz about the place. Nice lighting, varying types of seating from tall bar stalls to comfortable individual armchairs.

It was really not nice experience! We had 1 hour planned for late lunch and we called many restaurants to find the one with the open kitchen. On the phone we had a confirmation from the restaurant that kithchen is OPEN! We came and made an order for food at 17:15. After 30 min of waiting we came to ask where is our order and suddenly it appears that the kitchen is closed and order will be in 5 min ready. So at the end we got food at 18:15! It made as loose reservation at other destination on our list planned for this evening. Manager was trying to make an excuse.
