(Last visited 7/14/2021.) Working in Bordeaux for a couple of weeks and I get to hang out during the weekend so we're out exploring the city! Well, after a light lunch and walking around a bit we spot some INCREDIBLE looking desserts from the window of this place. We had to investigate! Here's how it went!

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set nestled right into the landscape of Bordeaux on Rue du Mirail is this gem. It's got big glass windows so you can see right in. Then once you're inside the aura just changes. It's so modern and present-day! I loved it. Glass everywhere so you can see all the delicious sweets, really cool décor and that's not it! This is an art gallery too! We didn't really get the chance to explore that part of the business, but the art gallery is toward the back of the business and there's an outdoor section too for you to hang out in.

Service: Naomy took amazing care of it. Her credit card machine was broken and we didn't have any cash so she worked with us to make sure we could pay her appropriately for the sweet treats we wanted. She was sweet, patient and just made sure we felt welcomed.

Food: So were able to try a few things. First off, we started with a tarte de saison which is like a fruit tart. The crust was soft, the custard was creamy, sweet, delicious and the top was PACKED with fruit! I felt healthy eating this thing! Lol. Next up we were able to try the "Charlotte Citron vert Coulis De Framboise". So... this thing was like a pasty, dusted with powdered sugar, but the inside was soft, almost like a sponge and on top was a raspberry puree. It was so good, light, refreshing, not overly sweet and just satisfying. I loved it.

Value: I have the prices listed in my pictures, but the tart was 4.50€. That's a bit pricy, but if you consider the amount of labor, love, care, expertise and real fruit that went into making these adorable charts, you'd see the value. I did. This isn't a doughnut shop where stuff is just deep dried, battered or whatever. The second dessert was 4.80€. Same situation here. These desserts were just at a different level than some stuff I've had before so I can tell these were made with the things I mentioned earlier.

In conclusion, this place is incredible and there should've been 300 people in there with cash out trying to sell this place out! I think because it was new, no one really knew about it, but we're trying to spread the word! If you're in the area, check them out and go support them!

I wish i could give it a 0 but since the lowest grade available is 1, that is what i will give it. I saw this place on google maps, i thought its rating was good that’s why i decided to give it a try. So we opted for a caramel popcorn flan, which looked and tasted nothing like a flan. I was given by the lady the flan with The top side of the flan broken i saw 2 pieces of flans in this bakery and i was given the broken one. That’s it for aesthetics, let’s talk about taste now, the caramel popcorn? Well no taste of popcorn? The caramel was burnt so it had an unpleasant bitter and ashy taste. The crumble was passable (i would even say not buttery enough). The real issue is on the inside. It looked and tasted nothing like a flan. By colour alone, it was too white already to be close to an authentic golden flan. The texture was tragic. The cream was curdled and lumpy, unlike a classic smooth and silky flan. Tastewise it was lifeless. Completely bland to the point of indifference. It was like bititng into an uneven mush of water and flour. Even a drop of vanilla extract could have salvaged something. Overall, we cannot consider this a flan it tasted nothing like a flan, and considering it’s price of 6€ i would not recommend...

100% gluten-free bakery! Make sure to go early and not in the late afternoon to have a much better selection of pastries and bread. The staff is super nice and helpful, very keen in talking about the establishment and showing around.
