My husband and I are on vacation in Bordeaux. On the first day we arrived we went to this cafe and as super well attended by a girl with short black hair, she was very polite and friendly.
We recommended it to all our friends, the pies and coffees were wonderful.
However, when we returned before leaving the city, we were super treated. I arrived at the door and waited to be answered, a curly haired guy was talking to a girl for minutes and said to us, when we asked if there was a table for two that at the moment there wasn't. Okay, we wait. A group of girls arrived after us and he took them to a table that had to be vacated, then with another couple… we were in shock… we don't understand why… I was super upset. Was it because we didn't speak French?
my husband spoke to another attendant and she pointed to a small queue that had formed and told him to wait in line, without a smile on her face, super thick! I was already in line, I was the first in line but the employees passed two groups of people in front of us! ...
Read moreThe cafe has beautiful decoration, clean toilet, and in strategic area. The coffee price and taste was okay. Very crowded on weekend, so I suggest if you want calm ambience I do not recommend on weekend or peak hour. Just has 1 thing to improve, the hospitality, the old woman with eyeglasses as waitress not really friendly, no warm greetings, this is not the first time I come here, so I observed, but everytime that old woman waitress come to us and I can see she has no hospitality, and that day we come and sit directly in our table, instead of greeting or say "bonjour" First to us when she come to us, She told us do not sit directly we need to wait to get our table with no pleasant face and expression. If she explain it nicely we can understand, but she put really unpleasant face/expression when she told us. How can we know, no waitress stand by in front of the cafe, of course we sit directly. The Junior waitress was friendly, just the old woman waitress with eyeglasses need to improve her hospitality and how to...

I think the reason is because they offer so much more than coffee, breakfast , brunch and lots of types of tea.
I ordered a latte and a cookie. The cookie was standard, nothing special , reminds me of any classical cookie.
The coffee, is not acidic actually very alkaline and soft. Suitable to be consumed for an afternoon coffee not an the early morning. The barista is talented with her drawings on the coffee, a nice touch.
In general I rank the coffee 7/10 which is disappointing especially that they have their own coffee roaster shop.
It is not the best coffee shop in Bordeaux , however it is definitely...
