Le Bistrot d'Aurélie — Restaurant in Bordeaux

We got the combo meal with an entree , main plate, and dessert. The food was very mid I had a white fish that came with potatoes and my partner got the beef which came with fries. The Fish was a good sized fillet with mild butter sauce and was probably the best plate . Our server got annoyed when we asked the size of the fillet (which should be common knowledge in the restaurant business). The beef was a little overcooked but the white sauce was good. The weird thing was getting the dessert and although I got the combo the customer on another table over had their dessert brought out to them with good presentation while mine looked like it was just thrown on the plate. The desserts were not very good , I got the chocolate ganash with pineapples (didn’t even taste like real pineapples more canned) and the rice pudding was too sweet . Ok, first of all a big thank you to all staff present on Sunday 3/03/24. The gentleman serving us and all the beautiful ladies at the bar and till that helps us to find something for everybody. They were all very helpful and caring, answering all sorts of questions ,including finding us a open shop to buy food on Sunday evening. The gentleman serving us went above and beyond the call of duty, trying to translate the menu and give alternatives ,options and lengthy explanation. Amazing Bistrot with a varied menu with many delicious sounding offerings ! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful giving good recommendations ! Entree we chose the salmon cake, and this was honestly the best dish I have eaten in Bordeaux ! Main was the veal tagine which was beautifully flavoured with excellent garnish of vegetables and such a rich and flavoursome sauce ! Dessert was the pain perdu again delicious the balance of flavours was spot on ! And of course not to forget the wine which complemented the meal amazingly well!
