While in Bordeaux for the holidays my wife & I were looking for some mexican food / tacos. Tigermilk fit the bill and we were able to make a reservation via their website quickly & easily. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted and sat by staff. They were quick to assist and show us how to access the menu via the QR code and took our order swiftly. We originally ordered 3 orders of tacos (chicken, veggie, & pork) as well as guacamole and a "pitcher" of margaritas.
The drinks came out quite quickly, however the "pitcher" was lacking in size, we were able to get just about 2 drinks each from it, when we were expected a bit more, but for price of 34 euro it was not much of a savings if any from ordering 4 individual drinks. They tasted good, however, so not a huge deal, I would order again.
The food came out very quickly thereafter, almost shockingly so. The tacos, as many reviews have mentioned, were on the smaller side and did lack a bit of filling, however the flavors of each were all very well done. Our biggest issue, aside from lacking of filling, were that they were all nearly cold, not even warm. Mind you we were some of the first customers of the evening & having our food come out less than warm was a bit disappointing. Upon finishing up the 6 tacos and guacamole we were both still hungry so ordered the steak tacos and the veggie (mushroom) quesadilla. The food again came out quickly, but even worse than the first round of tacos, the steak ones had nearly no meat, and again, less than warm. The hero of the night was the quesadilla, packed with delicious mushrooms and cheese, and of great size, we both agreed it was the best food of the evening & it was hot!
We spent 2 weeks in Bordeaux and ate out often, and this was by far and away our most expensive meal of the entire trip at roughly 80 euro. Ultimately we left a bit disappointed, however the flavors were there, the quality of the food (temp / size) were a bit lacking, drinks and quesadilla were good. We would go back, but probably keeping in mind the cost. With not many mexican food options in the area it is a good choice with appropriate expectations beforehand.
Other reviews noted poor service, but we did not see this at all, and indeed the opposite, several servers checked in with us, cleared plates quickly, and were very pleasant. Utilizing the app to pay and see our bill without having to wave someone down was also a very big bonus, so we could leave on our timing without having to wait for someone to pop by...
Read moreThis restaurant DOES NOT represent mexican good at all, and the waiters are not polite. Please read my following experience:
First, I arrived and I did not make a reservation. So the waiter said in a non very polite tone "well, I will what I can do for you".
Then, they claim to have a "mexican" menu where you think they will cook properly a mexican food but this is just a lie! I ordered a quesadilla of cochinita and in the menu it says that is typically prepared as Yucatan, but it is NOT! It is just meat cooked withouht the mexican ingreditents. Moreover, when I ordered my quesadilla I said I did not want it with cheese and the waiter said "It is not good without cheese". And I am mexican ... we do NOT prepare cochinita with cheese, why in the world would he dare to say it is not good without cheese? I think it is bc he has never experienced mexican food.
At the end, my friend told another waiter that the food was not mexican at all and he replied "well this is France, not Mexico". And I said "well, in Paris there are real mexican restaurants" (I mean it is Paris.... still France).
The waiters are disrespecful and not polite in the way and manner they talk to you.
I do not...
Read moreI was very eager to bring my friends to this restaurant who were visiting Bordeaux at the time on vacation. The food is good in terms of Mexican food in France so I cannot fault that. But my goodness the service was the worst I have experienced in my 2 years living in France. Is it any wonder the french have a bad name abroad. Our waitress was simply the rudest person I have ever met, a young looking woman with a ponytail. I am not sure if the staff have training in hospitality prior to being hired but I would fully recommend this to her employer. You simply do not roll your eyes at a customer when they are speaking to you. At one point I had to ask her if everything was OK as she was just being so unbelievably rude and unprofessional. It absolutely ruined our evening to be honest when you experience that frosty reception. I mostly felt bad for my friends who had travelled great distances to be here, only to be confronted with this appalling behaviour. Please train your staff in at least the basics of customer service before releasing them to the public.
