We had dinner at Brasserie Bordelaise in Bordeaux, and it was a pleasant experience overall. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, and our order was taken quickly. However, we were seated at a high table, which was a bit uncomfortable for dinner. For our meal, I had the beef confit aux vin de Bordeaux, while my wife chose the tuna tataki. The beef was tender and almost melted off the fork, but I expected a bit more depth of flavor in the overall dish. It was served with potato purée, which was good. My wife's tuna tataki was well-prepared, with the meat finely roasted and the flavors well-balanced. For drinks, we had a glass of red wine from Bordeaux and a Lillet. Both were satisfactory but not particularly memorable. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, apart from the discomfort of the high table. While I would explore other restaurants in Bordeaux next time, I don’t regret the meal we had here. In total, we paid around €40 per person for the meal and wine.

Also heard this was one of the better restaurants in Bordeaux so we wanted to try. We had a reservation but for a weird reason it came up as the next day but the staff were nice enough to still accomodate and seat us. Started off with 2 red wines from Bordeaux. Some complementary bread was given with Pate de Foie de Porc. For a starter we ordered 4 David Herve Oysters. We aren't big oyster fans but needed to try here. We were once again reminded why we aren't oyster fans. I ordered the tartare with mashed potatoes and salad. My girlfriend ordered the Ox Cheek cooked in red wine. This also came with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. Both dishes were great. Flavor of the tartare was on point and the tenderness of the ox cheek made it taste super good. Amazing meal and happy to try this place.

Voilà une semaine que j'y ai mangé, j'attends toujours un peu avant de donner mon avis à chaud. Ne pas oublier que quand je vais au restaurant ce n'est pas pour manger ce que je fais chez moi mais prendre un moment de plaisir et de convivialité et tout ça dans un certain confort. Repas a 120 € pour 2, commençons par les points positifs : service impeccable, les gens sont à l'écoute et charmant. L'ambiance du restaurant reflète bien le petit monde Bordelais, table propre et pas mal des vins à découvrir. Voilà donc pour le "bon" maintenant passons au moins bon..... J'ai pris une belle entrecôte Simmental à 35€ (c'est une viande que je connais bien et me permet de juger facilement sur la cuisson, le gout et la tendresse)et là ...Aiiii.... une cuisson sur une plancha (voir photo vous verrez c'est bien noir et pas segmenté) qui n'était surement pas dégraissée entre ma portion de viande et celle d'avant. Il est bien triste de cuire de la viande sûr une plancha dans un restaurant (vous ne pouvez pas avoir la maitrises du feu ni de la cuisson) . La planche c'est bon pour la maison et encore. évidement c'est mon avis je cuisine aussi sur la planche de temps en temps entre amis. Passons sur l'accompagnement : des frittes baignées dans l'huile surement pas du jour.... Remarque comme ça cela accompagne parfaitement avec la viande servie.no comment Pour l'entrée et le dessert c'était correcte pour une brasserie donc je ne m'attarde pas. ...et, a mon grand malheur, j'ai eu une envie d'aller au toilette....je vous jure quel idée j'ai eu... J'avais les genoux dans la porte (à la limite ça je passe) c'est le toilette a droite en rentrant, l'autre la porte ne fermant pas... il y avait un cache-misère derrière moi, une planche bouchant un trou avec une vue sur des frigos, je suppose, un coin sombre où il fait 5 degrés, cette planche mais tombés sur la tête c'est ainsi que je vous décrit cette mésaventure. Honnêtement il y a un minimum... Je me suis rendu pour payer mon addition sans demande quelconques je ne cherche pas de réductions juste un bon moment je vous rappel. Après discussion avec le personnel (on m’a demandé mon avis je précise) il semble que je ne suis pas le premier 'cela n'est pas le plus rassurant. Comme je ne suis pas désagréable et que le service était franchement au top je retenterais tout de même l'expérience un peu plus tard pour voir s'il y a une amélioration. Sur ceux bonne fin d'année.

Verschrikkelijk. Ga niet naar deze tourist trap. Ik begrijp de positieve reviews niet. Onze ervaring hier was echt heel slecht. De hoofdgerechten kwamen binnen 5 minuten op tafel en kwamen uit de magnetron. We hebben genoeg ervaring met uit eten gaan (ook bij veel betere restaurants) om dit te herkennen. Ik had de Caussolet. Buiten dat de worst heel zout was en alleen van boven een beetje bruin verder heel erg wit, was de vel van de eend zwart en leek het net bot als je het at. De bonen smaakte nergens naar. Het gerecht kwam heel heet op tafel en koelde binnen een paar minuten af, nog een indicatie dat het uit de magnetron kwam. En dat voor € 30,-! Erg duur voor een verschrikkelijke kwaliteit. Ook de bediening was niet goed. Mijn Frans is niet goed en haar Engels was niet goed. Waardoor we elkaar niet helemaal begrepen. Omdat we elkaar verkeerd begrepen, dacht ik dat ze vroeg zijn jullie al klaar. Waarop ik nee zei en mijn bord werd weggehaald. Bleek ze gevraagd te hebben of we nog aan het eten waren. Kan gebeuren, normaal wordt hier een lolletje van gemaakt. Zij werd alleen maar chagrijniger. Nog een denigrerende opmerking maken van; daarom vraag ik het ook, pfff’. Ze kwam nog vragen hoe het eten was, maar voordat we konden antwoorden liep ze door. Er van uitgaande dat alles goed was. Ze leek nog beledigd dat we geen dessert en koffie/thee wilde. Na 15 minuten gewacht te hebben op de rekening was die er nog steeds niet. Maar bij de kassa wisten ze precies aan welke tafel we hadden gezeten. Hier werd gevraagd hoe het was. We waren eerlijk en hebben gezegd dat het echt niks was. Dat het eten uit de magnetron kwam en we 15 minuten hebben gewacht op de rekening. Er werd excuses gemaakt maar verder werd er helemaal niks mee gedaan. Moesten gewoonde volle pond betalen. Was dan niks goed? De wijn was ok. Voor die prijs hebben we veel betere wijnen gedronken in Bordeaux. Maar ik was met mijn twee beste vrienden die ik al ruim 25 jaar ken en dan zo’n verschrikkelijke ervaring delen maakt iets goed.

Sadly the hype and high expectations didn’t hold. Firstly I thought the room that you see from the street is the whole place but there’s a lot more space in the back (where there’s different music than the front and based on my feeling it’s where most tourists are seated). Secondly: the rib cut steak was one of the worst 35Euro steaks in my life, the knife couldn’t cut it and I asked for it to be cooked rare. The ox cheeks were really really good so go for that. Service is good and professional. Total damage for a dozen of oysters, a steak and ox cheeks: 85 Eur (we had 2 glasses of wine too but the waiter was kind enough to waive the costs given the steak’s condition)

hot and stuffy. service was really slow. some other table that came later than us got food or wine earlier than us. we had to remind them to grab our wine 3 times at least. steak was only warm, insufficiently salted and tasted very light. seem like a low quality cut of meats. sides were only average. only starters were great no complains. bread was average and they gave some pork pate which was nice. red wine was decent “le cadet de larrivet haut-brion”. hopefully they can improve their service and mains. for the price, quite disappointed with this place when it was our first proper dinner in bordeaux.
