We were warmly greeted when we arrived. Our waiter was helpful friendly, attentive and professional. The decor is charming. As it was a Friday afternoon, I was looking forward to the fish and chips 🌝🌝, but alas, it was sold out😥😥, so I shall forgive Gordon this time!! 😅😅As the food was delicious, scrumptious and mouth watering.
The bread and butter was yummy as was the little cheese puff we were given.
The foie gras was an absolute delight.
The Noux St Jacques was tender and melted in your mouth, the duck was yummy, the steak was succulent and the roast chicken was the best, so tender and juicy with an incredible sauce.
The chips were homemade and yummy, the mashed potato was creamy and smooth and the vegetables with a butter sauce was the best.
To finish off, the lemon meringue pie with a mint/lemon ice cream was incredible, the hazelnut ice cream and mousse was served in a ceramic cocoa bean shell and it was an explosion in the mouth and the presentation was so original and lovely. The tea gourmand was the best- a divine hazelnut macaron, a chocolate filled with an apple type mixture ( not my beat but the chocolate was sinful!), a mini hazelnut mousse, a mini lemon meringue pie and a mini canele.
A wonderful culinary experience and a super afternoon. Highly...
Read moreFirst things first, the location is a very good location, however that's the only good thing about our experience. I visited with my friend who is as picky as I. We were not well received at all. The menu looks nice as it is well prepared however the dishes are not as good as they seem, for a Gordon Ramsey level. After waiting an hour for our dry bread without serving any complimentary igredient, we ordered: -tartare de bœuf: it was a very dry sliced meat with a cocktail sauce on the side (did we order shrimps here?) the duck: we asked it to be rare, we revieved it well cooked with a hint of mashed potatoes. We asked it be redone and thirty minutes later we got the same plate back with less mashed potatoes. -we asked for a side of sucrines (iceberg) which came also dry with only moutarde a l'anncienne as a "dressing". As if they just cleansed it and sliced it. -a St Marcellin l, it was served cold which was refreshing and honestly pretty good (probably because they just bought it).
Overall this restaurant is well below the level expected specially for the price tag, the associated reputation it holds and Gordon Ramsey supposedly being the maestro behind all this. (Which after trying I have to say, I...
Read moreSat down and asked only still or sparkling. Several Minutes later they came with a menu and asked the same question. We checked out the menu and I being allergic to gluten found very little that I could eat. We’ve therefore opted to only have one course for the evening. We ordered a cocktail and wine. They brought the cocktail and the water a few minutes later. The wine did not appear until a couple of minutes and then within one minute our meals were served. It appeared that my entrée had croutons on top which of course I cannot eat. I waited for 15 minutes for someone to come by and ask if everything was fine. No one came. I actually had to wave someone over to ask them. They said the chef assures me that it is gluten-free so I eat it. Thankfully no issues. So every other table had been brought lovely bread no bread was brought to our table for my husband. We are very much looking forward to this meal in Bordeaux but sadly we were very disappointed.
The hotel and the reception staff and the valet were absolutely spot on. Very friendly service minded and a complete opposite as far as the...
