Raf was absolutely amazing! My friend and I were walking the streets looking for a good dinner. After being turned down a few times and exiting a stinky establishment, we happened upon this gem. Raf seated us quickly, and we noticed that he was the only server, host and bartender serving the entire establishment. We did wait a short time to be served but, honestly, it was worth it. Despite serving 12 tables at once and running around to keep everyone happy - you could tell he had a system down and was very efficient, keeping cool, calm and collected the entire time. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the swordfish steak and my friend the seabass with the sides of fries, mash potatoes and salad. We’ve been all over Europe the last week and this by far was our best meal. The service was impeccable and we will definitely return.

We decided to book a table in this restaurant after we passed next to it. The restaurant looks very nice and it's very spacious. I ordered set menu for €26 (starter, main and dessert), my partner had a steak and dessert. We could pick a wine from a huge wine rack. I had fish salad, fish of the day and chocolate cake. Everything was nice however the cake was slightly overcooked. My partner ordered medium steak and it was extremely rare. He ate some but then mentioned it to the waitress, she gave a gallic shrug and said "in France...". She took it to the kitchen but when she came back it was still pretty much the same. In general it wasn't bad but the food could have been better. I wouldn't rush to come back here.

The best ever, so far in Bordeaux in a small hidden street in the pedestrian center.. a gem of French culinary experience. The chef knows how to enhance excellent ingredients. Fish, meat, vegetables... it is an amazing cuisine that is delivered on your plate for the pleasure of all refined and discerning palates. Good wine selection, excellent smoked salmon and fantastic grottons de canard, the beef filet Rossini cuts like butter, and the lamb is the best quality that can be tasted, the puree of potatoes has some nut oil and is wonderful..and to finish.. panna cotta... all is like home-made this is a must .. HIGHLY RECOMMEMDED

THE BEST MEAL WE HAVE HAD IN THE SOUTH WEST OF FRANCE!!! Wow. Just wow! From the beautiful service staff, who speaks fluent English, to the stunning decor and restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by the absolutely perfect meal we had. We visited during their weekday €19.50 special, including an entrée, main meal and dessert from several selections. I had the calamari which was the tastiest, perfectly cooked calamari I've had in years (coming from Australia, I'm fussy!) We then had the veal steak which was a generous portion and also served with seasoned fries, mashed potato and salad. Everything was prepared and cooked to perfection. Even the accompanying bread was delicious! Finishing with a mango flan which was also flawless.

The chef came over and was super friendly too. Even the bathroom is lovely!

I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful place in the heart of Bordeaux. We will...

After a long 5-hour drive with our 5-month-old, we were hesitant to dine out, seeking convenience for our little one. After several unsuccessful attempts to order takeout from nearby restaurants, we discovered Le Comptoir D’Etienne, and what a gem it turned out to be! Not only did they accommodate our takeout request—a rarity in the area—but they also provided exceptional service. The staff was incredibly friendly, guiding us through their mouthwatering menu and helping us select the perfect wine, a 2016 Château Le Bourdieu, to complement the magret de canard and entrecôte we ordered. To top it off, they even assisted in carrying the food back to our Airbnb, ensuring we enjoyed a warm and delightful meal. Le Comptoir D’Etienne truly exceeded our expectations, and we wholeheartedly award...
