Le Métropolitain — Restaurant in Bordeaux

We came upon le Metropolitain when we were looking for an early meal in Bordeaux after an afternoon in the city before taking my brother to the airport. And what a lovely finale to his stay the Metropolitain was. We each had a mystery tasting glass of wine chosen by the proprietor after a asking us for our wine style preferences and we were each delighted with his choice. The glasses were sparklingly clean, the decor and atmosphere is great. We loved the music too! We shared a very delicious tasting platter and chatted. Set on a main road that the tram runs through in the city centre, the place is very cosy and less touristy than most places in town. Really friendly staff and owner. A great selection of wine, a good combination of easy drinking ones, and more unique ones to expand one's horizon. The selection feels quite sophisticated, but the bar isn't snobbish at all. It's a great experience to learn more about wine from the region...

A lovely restaurant with great service. The meat and cheese platters are good value. There was a wide range of wine choice to suit our party of 7. Best of all, in my humble opinion, was the fabulous choice of craft beer, which is worth a return visit on its own. My only trivial issue was that the music was a bit loud but perhaps that suits the regular customer...
